Pokémon on Nintendo Switch
Last week, during the Pokémon Direct, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were announced… for the Nintendo 3DS. There wasn’t any announcement regarding a (mainline) game on the Nintendo Switch, which did upset a certain portion of the fanbase, who were expecting something for the platform (especially following certain rumours we chose not to report on).
But today, during the Nintendo Spotlight at E3 2017, Tsunekazu Ishihara himself announced that Game Freak had begun development on a brand new mainline Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch. However, he warned fan that this game would not be released for at least another year, so definitely not before Holiday 2018.
Naturally, we don’t know what game it will be, though it’s safe to assume we’re talking about Gen. 8. Unfortunately, we’re not going to get any answer in the near future! One thing’s for sure, though: that announcement is most definitely not unrelated to the backlash following the Nintendo Direct last week, forcing that premature announcement.
Pokkén Tournament was also showcased during the Nintendo Spotlight at E3 2017, but nothing really new was shown. Therefore, we’re just going to post the tidbit from the press release, and some screenshots!
