Pokémon Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Sun, and Moon: a year of Legendary distributions

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Pokémon series, The Pokémon Company had a series of Pokémon distributions over the course of 2016, allowing fans to get some (usually) hard to get Mythical Pokémon. And for 2018, a similar event will take place during the “Legendary Year”, this time with Legendary Pokémon. The distributions are for Pokémon Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Sun, and Moon, in Europe and North America.

February: Palkia (Ultra Sun, Sun) or Dalgia (Ultra Moon, Moon)

  • When: February 2nd to February 28th (February 23rd in some countries, including Spain, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, and France)
  • How: Serial Code (has to be redeemed before May 23rd)
  • Where: GAME (United Kingdom, Spain) / GameStop (US, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland), EB Games (Canada, Australia), Micromania (France), GameMania (Netherlands).

Here’s how to get the Legendary Pokémon distributed via Serial Codes:

  • Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.
  • Select Receive Gift.
  • Select Get with Code/Password, then Yes, and then Yes again to connect to the internet.
  • Enter your code.
  • Watch as you receive your Pokémon.
  • Speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center to pick up your Palkia or Dialga.
  • Be sure to save your game!

Here’s how to get the Legendary Pokémon distributed via Nintendo Network:

  1. Open your Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, or Pokémon Ultra Moon game.
  2. Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.
  3. Select Receive Gift.
  4. Select via Internet, then Yes to connect to the internet.
  5. Watch as you receive your Pokémon!
  6. Resume the game, make sure you have an empty space in your party, and speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center to receive your Pokémon!
  7. Be sure to save your game!

But it’s not just Pokémon Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Sun, and Moon that are part of this “Legendary Year” promotion:

  • Pokémon TCG: a range of Legendary-themed product tie-ins will be released, such as new collections, Pokémon-GX cards, and more. More details will be shared closer to launch;
  • Pokémon Shuffle: there will be various activities throughout the year. The usual expert and special stages featuring Legendary Pokémon will continue, but there will also be some new event stages (starting with Dialga and Palkia, from February 6th to February 13th);
  • Pokémon GO: there will be special promotions featuring Legendary Pokémon. More details coming soon;
  • Pokémon TV: monthly Pokémon movies tied to the Legendary Pokémon featured in that month’s distribution. The movies will also air on some Pokémon broadcast partners at select times during these months.
