Pokémon Shuffle: new update available (Ver. 1.3.0), list of changes

Pokemon ShuffleToday, a brand new update for Pokémon Shuffle was released. It’s a major one, which needs to be downloaded via the Nintendo eShop. It brings the game to Ver. 1.3.0, and adds quite a lot of new features. And if you download it, you can get some bonuses:

  • if you’ve played within the past 30 days: 3,000 Coins + Raise Max Level
  • if you haven’t played during the past 30 days or more: 10,000 coins + 30 Hearts

Here’s the list of changes/new features introduced in Ver. 1.3.0 of Pokémon Shuffle:

  • the game now displays recommended Pokémon for each stages (just like in Pokémon Shuffle Mobile);
  • the game tells you when you haven’t played a particular Special Stage (just like in Pokémon Shuffle Mobile);
  • you can now check a list of the Pokémon you have caught;
  • Pokémon Safari: the game now shows you which Pokémon you have already caught, and those that are still available;
  • when a Pokémon levels up, you can now hold it down to see how much more XP it needs before leveling up;
  • you can now fast travel, and the game shows you how many Pokémon and S Ranks you got in each area;
  • SpotPass notifications will now notify you when new content is available;
  • Survival Mode has been added. You can access it when you reach level 150. In this mode, you start by selecting 4 Support Pokémon, and then you face various opponents non-stop until you lose. This mode costs 3 hearts per play;
  • Raise Max Level: a new item that allows you to bypass the level cap (+1 each time you use the item)
  • Exp. Boosters: a new item that allows you to give bonus XP to your Pokémon (S= +50, M= +200, L: +1000)
  • Pokémon can now have “enhancements” (the number depends on the Pokémon);
  • Mission cards: special missions with objectives to complete (such as making a combo of 10 for example). Each mission has its own set of restrictions and rewards (stars). When you have a certain amount of stars, you can redeem them for items such as Mega Starts, or Mega Stones;
  • Check-in bonus: depending on the amount of Jewels purchased during a given month, you will get some bonuses every time you use the check-in feature during the same month. Here’s what you can get:
  1. from 5 to 9 Jewels: regenerated hearts can go up to 6 + 600 coins;
  2. over 10 Jewels: your regenerated hearts can go up to 7 + 700 coins with each check in

This update requires 703 blocks / 87MB of free space on your SD card. To download it, you have three options:

  • launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet: you should get a prompt when doing so;
  • search for Pokémon Shuffle on the Nintendo eShop
  • use the options in the Nintendo eShop settings

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply launch the game. You should see “Ver. 1.3.0” at the top right corner of the top screen. Click here for more details about the update!
