Pokémon GO news (March 1): Dialga in Raid Battles / Safari Zone

Today’s Pokémon GO news: Dialga in Raid Battles, new Safari Zone event announced, Research Breakthrough, PokéStop nomination system now available in Peru, and more!

Pokémon GO – Dialga

Niantic have announced that Dialga (Steel and Dragon-type) is coming to Raid Battles this month. It will be available from:

  • Europe: March 1st (10PM) to March 28th (10PM)
  • UK: March 1st (9PM) to March 28th (9PM)
  • North America (ET): March 1st (4PM) to March 28th (4PM)
  • North America (PT): March 1st (1PM) to March 28th (1PM)
  • Japan: March 2nd (6AM) to March 29th (6AM)

Pokémon GO – Safari Zone

Today, a new Safari Zone event was announced. It will take place at Sentosa, Singapore (known for its pristine beaches, tropical landscape, and wide range of entertainment), and will be the very first one in South East Asia. Like previous similar events, you will need a ticket in order to participate.

This new Safari Zone event will take place from April 18th to April 22nd, and will feature the following:

  • Tropius
  • Lapras
  • Unown
  • Shiny Shuckle
  • Alolan Exeggutor
  • and more…

More details about the event will be shared at a later date.

Pokémon GO – Research Breakthrough

Today is March 1st, which means it’s finally time for new Research tasks. Starting later today (1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM GMT / 10PM CET / 6AM JST), completing a week of week of research will allow you to encounter one of the following Pokémon (selected at random): Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel.

Heads up for players in Peru: the beta version of the PokéStop nomination system is now live, though only for Level 40 Trainers.
