Picross 3D 2: overview video, demo version, gameplay clips, filesize and more

A few weeks ago, Nintendo announced Picross 3D 2, for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will come out on October 1st in Japan, but fans who really can’t wait can download a demo version from the Nintendo eShop starting today! Unfortunately, the demo is only available in Japan, since no European or North American release has been announced so far…

Nintendo also updated the official website with some additional details, screenshots and gameplay clips. But first of all, here’s some “technical” details about the game itself:

  • Players: 1
  • Save data files: 3
  • 3D visuals: Yes
  • File size: 256MB (2 100 blocks)
  • amiibo: allow you to get special puzzles based on the character scanned. See below for the list of figures compatible.

Next, we have the overview video for the game, uploaded this morning by Nintendo. It explains the rules of the 3D puzzles, and showcases some of the features and tools (including the hints and difficulty levels, which can be adjusted at any time).

Here it is:

The video does mention that the game is compatible with amiibo. By scanning one of the compatible figures, you can unlock a special puzzle based on that very character. Here’s the list of amiibo supported:

  • Mario
  • Peach
  • Luigi
  • Yoshi
  • Toad
  • Bowser
  • Link
  • Kirby
  • Meta Knight
  • King DeDeDe

But if that overview video isn’t enough for oyu: no problem! Nintendo also added a couple of videos on the official website. Head after the break to check them out!

Finally, here’s various screencaps from the official website:
