Picross 3D 2 announced for the 3DS: details, list of amiibo compatible, boxart, screens and video

If you’re a Picross fan, there is a game you have surely been waiting for ages: a sequel to Picross 3D. Good news… it’s exactly what Nintendo revealed this morning! Picross 3D 2 is developed by HAL Laboratory, and will come out on October 1st in Japan.

Picross 3D 2Picross 3D 2 will offer a total of 300 3D puzzles, with various themes: food, animals, buildings, etc.. The gameplay is quite simple: you have to solve the various puzzles just like you would in a regular Picross game. The “only” difference? They are in 3D! The game will have several difficulty levels, but also (optional) hints for unexperienced players.

Quite surprisingly, the game will be compatible with amiibo: scanning a figure will allow you to unlock a special puzzle based on that very character. Here’s the list of amiibo supported:

  • Mario
  • Peach
  • Luigi
  • Yoshi
  • Toad
  • Bowser
  • Link
  • Kirby
  • Meta Knight
  • King DeDeDe

In Japan, Picross 3D 2 will get a retail release, so here’s the boxart:
