Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy announced for the Nintendo Switch
Last week, during its annual Ace Attorney stage presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom announced Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy for the Nintendo Switch. It’s a port of the trilogy which was first released on smart decices, then brought to the Nintendo 3DS, and now the Nintendo Switch.
It includes all three games in the original Ace Attorney Trilogy, for a total of 14 cases:
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations
Here’s the debut trailer for the collection:
Just like the Nintendo DS version (in Japan) and the Nintendo 3DS version, each game in the trilogy will feature both English and Japanese languages (at least in Japan). The number of save slots has also been bumped up: you get 20 of them in total (10 for each language), though they’re shared between all 3 games. Another change from the original: the penalty gauge has been changed, and is now the same in all 3 games.
In Japan, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is getting a retail release (even a Limited Edition), but nothing has been announced for Europe and North America yet (just that the game is indeed releasing in those two regions). Given Capcom’s track record with the series and with the Nintendo Switch, it’s pretty safe to expect the collection to be either digital-only (especially in Europe), or with a mandatory download.
Finally, here’s a few screenshots for the collection:
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (Switch) comes out in Early 2019 worldwide. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
