Nintendo: updated launch schedule (October 2016)

As usual, Nintendo revealed its updated planning for upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles today, along with its financial results for H1 2016-17. Unfortunately, this is a document for investors, who can check out how many games are coming out for each platforms. It’s not a list for consumers or even the press, with exact dates or anything. Therefore, do not expect to find many new release dates in the charts below.

There isn’t much really new in the launch schedule, compared to what was previously announced. The games revealed during the Nintendo Direct in September have been added (such as the Pikmin game for the Nintendo 3DS), but that’s pretty much it.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is still listed as Early 2017 in Europe: it looks like we could be getting a February release. There’s no doubt the release will be simultaneous in both regions. The third-party listing reveals that picross e7 is headed to Europe (and North America) before April 2017.

And in case you’re wondering: yes, Project Giant Robot is still listed as TBD on Wii U, along with Dr. Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training : Can You Stay Focused? for the Nintendo 3DS. They will remain on that list until it doesn’t make sense any more for Nintendo to make investors believe they have more Wii U / 3DS games coming than they actually do any more.

We will update our Upcoming Releases page asap!
