Nintendo Switch 2 to offer over 250 user profile icons at launch
On Nintendo Switch, if you want to customise your User profile, you can choose to either select/create a Mii, or you can go with one of many user profile icons. Naturally, this feature is back on Nintendo Switch 2, but with a key difference: there will be over 250 user profile icons at launch… 258 in total to be exact!
In the latest post shared on Nintendo Today!, Nintendo is giving us a look at the various user icons available on Nintendo Switch 2. Said icons feature characters and/or items from a variety of Nintendo series and games, such as:
- Mario series
- Donkey Kong series
- The Legend of Zelda series
- Animal Crossing series
- Splatoon series
- Pikmin series
- ARMS
- Star Fox series
- Metroid series
- Kirby series
- Fire Emblem series
- Pokémon series
And of course, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will still be able to get new, exclusive, custom user icons to use on Nintendo Switch 2 via the Missions and Rewards feature (as well as use those they’ve already created on Nintendo Switch).
Nintendo hasn’t communicated on any possible changes to the Nintendo Switch Online app in the Home Menu, but it’s pretty safe to expect that the company will stick to the current release schedule, which is as follows:
- a set of monthly icons, related to dedicated Missions;
- a set of icons related to a new game release, with weekly sets.
