Paper Mario: The Origami King (My Nintendo JP)

Nintendo have added two more physical rewards to the My Nintendo catalogue in Japan:

  • Paper Mario: The Origami King Paper Grips (300 Platinum Coins)
  • Paper Mario: The Origami King Magnet Sheet (300 Platinum Coins)

Paper Mario: The Origami King (Switch) comes out on July 17th worldwide.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The latest set of bonus items for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. It includes the following: All Primaries x10, All Supports x10, Rematch x5, Sluggish Shield x10, Shield Spacer x10. You can get it for free from the Nintendo eShop (requires non-trial Nintendo Switch Online subscription).

80th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders

Today, the 80th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders took place in Japan. The notice of resolution is now available (click here), and as usual, the various proposals shareholders were asked to vote on were approved.

Here’s the details:

  • Proposal No. 1: Distribution of Surplus. This proposal was approved and resolved as originally proposed. The year-end dividends for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2020 were decided to be 820 yen per share.
  • Proposal No. 2: Election of Five Directors (excluding Directors who are Audit and Supervisory Committee Members). This proposal was approved and resolved as originally proposed. The five candidates, Shuntaro Furukawa, Shigeru Miyamoto, Shinya Takahashi, Ko Shiota and Satoru Shibata were elected, and all five candidates assumed office as Directors (excluding Directors who are Audit and Supervisory Committee Members).
  • Proposal No. 3: Election of Four Directors who are Audit and Supervisory Committee Members. This proposal was approved and resolved as originally proposed. The four candidates, Naoki Noguchi, Katsuhiro Umeyama, Masao Yamazaki and Asa Shinkawa were elected, and all four candidates assumed office as Directors who are Audit and Supervisory Committee Members. Katsuhiro Umeyama, Masao Yamazaki, and Asa Shinkawa are Outside Directors.

As usual, in a few days, the vote results will be shared, allowing us to see the approval rate for each of the Directors.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is enjoying extremely strong and steady sales in Japan, with nearly 5 million units sold at retail alone. And even guidebooks are selling well: Kadokawa have announced that their Complete Guidebook for the game has now sold over 600 000 units.
