Nintendo’s Season’s Greetings (Europe)

Every year, Satoru Shibata, President of Nintendo of Europe, shares Season’s Greetings on the official website of the company. This is the occasion for him to take a look back at major events that happened during the past year, and mention important things coming the following year. Naturally, 2016 is no exception, and you can find this year’s Season’s Greetings on this page!

Super Mario Run

Yesterday, Nintendo finally shared the artwork from the special t-shirt that Shigeru Miyamoto was wearing during the Super Mario Run promo tour in the United States:

Wireless Gaming Device

Today, the FCC issued a radio test report for a mysterious unannounced “Wireless Game Device”. The model number is HAC-016, which implies it’s related to the Nintendo Switch (HAC is the code for the Nintendo Switch). It’s not the main unit, as that would be HAC-001. So what else could it be? Some sort of accessories? A smaller form factor? Something else?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Nintendo is ready to talk about it, as Nintendo set the short-term confidentiality release date to… June 18th, 2017. In other words, the documents will not be made public until that date, implying that it will be revealed by then.
