Super Mario Maker 2 Ver. 3.0
Nintendo have announced that Super Mario Maker 2 is to get its final major Software update (Ver. 3.0) on April 22nd. Here’s a trailer showcasing the various new features and elements:
This major update will add the following:
- new Power-Ups such as Super Mario Bros. 2 Mushroom (allows you to lift and throw enemies like in Super Mario Bros. 2), Frog Suit (allows you swim freely in water), Power Balloon (allows you to float like a balloon), Super Acorn (allows you to fly), Boomerang Flower (defeat enemies with a boomerang), and more (including “wacky wearables”);
- the 7 Koopalings (Larry, Wendy, Morton, Lemmy, Roy, Iggy, and Ludwig). You can finally have all 7 appear at once during the same battle!
- a new game mode: World Maker. As the name indicates, it allows you to create your very own world map, with up to 40 levels in 8 worlds. You can connect the various levels with paths, build bridges, create hills, change the appearance of the world, the course icons, etc.. You can even put a slot-style bonus stage, a secret area with lots of coins, and more. Of course, you can also choose the style of the various worlds (underground, field, snowfield, forest, volcano, night, and more). The best part? You can share your worlds with other players.
To coincide with that update, Nintendo will have a special offer on My Nintendo in Japan: from April 22nd to May 6th, the 7-day trial coupon will be available for 0 Platinum Coin.

Tetris 99
The latest Online Event for Tetris 99 will run from April 24th to April 28th, and will feature a Ring Fit Adventure theme to unlock. Here’s a video of that theme:
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Did you miss the Astral Chain and Kunio-kun Spirits available during their respective Spirits Events, earlier this year? If yes, fret not: they are now permanently available from the Spirit Board and the Shop!

Mario Kart Tour
To celebrate the release of the Ver. 3.0.0 update for Super Mario Maker 2, Mario Kart Tour is getting some drivers, karts, and gliders from/inspired by Super Mario Maker 2 during the upcoming Trick Tour (April 22nd to May 6th).
