Nintendo establishes Nintendo of Taiwan subsidiary
As the full reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 approaches, Nintendo is slowly but surely getting its duck in a row with a variety of measures (such as the discontinuation of Gold Points and confirming Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers will not work for Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive titles). One of them involves Taiwan, which is getting its very own subsidiary, logically called Nintendo of Taiwan.
Effectively, Nintendo of Taiwan was established last week, on February 10th. But today, Nintendo announced that this new subsidiary will formally go into operation on April 1st 2025 (the start of the new Fiscal Year). On that date, Nintendo of Taiwan will take over the business in Taiwan, which was previously handled by another Nintendo subsidiary: Nintendo (Hong Kong) Ltd..
In the announcement post, Nintendo explains that this new subsidiary was established in order to “further strengthen [their] business in the Taiwanese market, and to enhance the quality of customer service.” With Nintendo of Taiwan, Nintendo will “continue to promote business development in accordance with the management philosophy of the Nintendo Group.”
Here’s some details about the new subsidiary:
- Company name: Nintendo of Taiwan Co.
- Established on: February 10th 2025
- Address: 9F, No. 2, Sec. 1, Chengde Road, Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan
- Representative: Hiroyumi Matsumoto (Chairman)
