Nihilumbra (Wii U) coming out on May 14th in Europe and North America

Announced for Wii U back in 2013, Nihilumbra is finally about to come out in Europe and North America. Fans only have a couple of days to wait, as it will be available on May 14th in both Europe and North America. In its press release, BeautiFun Games announces that the game will cost 8.99€ / 9.99$, with a 20% discount available until May 28th.

If you’ve never heard about Nihilumbra before, you should know it’s a “Dark” 2D platform in which you control Born (an entity born from The Void). The gameplay is based around colours, with various abilities allowing you to move around the levels while solving puzzles and avoiding traps. Here’s two examples:

– Blue: allows you to create slippery surfaces to slide on, so you can jump further;
– Green: allows you to give a rubbery quality to the world, so you can use any surface as a trampoline.

The Wii U version will also have an exclusive co-op mode, with one player controlling Born with a Wiimote, and the other painting the world on the GamePad.

In case you missed it, here’s a trailer for Nihilumbra (showcasing the co-op mode, among other things):
