Miiverse: December 21st update (Wii U / Nintendo 3DS / web)

MiiverseYesterday (December 21st), Nintendo updated Miiverse, its social network entirely dedicated to video games (available on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, but also a web browser). Once again, there is no major change, but at least, the update applies to all versions of the service (Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and web). However, one of them only for the Japanese version of Miiverse.

Here’s the two main changes for this December 21st update:

  • from now on, you have to chose a tag before being able to post a message in the Discussion section of a community. Before, each message would get the default tag, which was, more often than not, not appropriate. [Applies to all versions of Miiverse]

  • Nintendo added a link to the gamepage of the corresponding game in each community. That way, users can get some details about the game, and buy it if they want. But for that, a Nintendo account with a Nintendo Network ID linked is required. [Only applies to the web version of Miiverse, in Japan]

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Nintendo has posted official patch notes in English for this update.
