Miitomo: new update in the works, will let sidekick Mii answer questions, emojis to trigger sound effects

Last month, Nintendo released a major update for Miitomo, adding several major (and long-awaited) features such as side-kick Mii, the ability to send messages directly to friends, room customisation, and more. And today, the company announced that another update was in the works, and would be released soon (most likely next week).

This new update will add a few neat features, though nothing as big as Ver. 2.0. For example, your sidekick Mii will be able to answer questions, which means they will serve another purpose than simply delivering messages. You will even be able to share those answers in Sidekick Central, which is a sidekick Mii version of Answer Central.

Also, with this update, emojis in your answers will trigger special sound effects, a bit like certain key words (like Nintendo and its coin sound effect).

Here’s the list of changes/additions for this new Miitomo update:

  • Your sidekick Mii characters will be able to answer questions.
  • “Sidekick Central” will be added. A place where you can share your sidekick Mii characters’ answers with other users.
  • Emoji in your Mii characters’ answers will trigger sound effects.
  • Various performance improvements.

It’s not clear when this update will be released, but looking at the previous ones, we can definitely expect this one to hit sometime next week.
