Mighty No. 9 officially delayed, now targeting Q1 2016; trailer and screenshots

Mighty No. 9A few days ago, several retailers changed their placeholder date for Mighty No. 9, from December 2015 to December 2016. This seemed to imply that the game was delayed, but until today, we didn’t have an officially confirmation from Comcept. But today, the company confirmed the news: Mighty No. 9 is indeed delayed, and while it does not have a new release date, the developers are now targeting Q1 2016.

In a message posted on the official forums (only available to backers), Comcept explained that this delay is mainly due to bugs, but also issues pertaining to the online features. Since those might have a direct impact on players’ enjoyment, the developers prefered to delay the game rather than releasing it full of bugs.

Also, Comcept revealed that they only received half of the response needed for the platform survey (which allows backers to chose for which platforms they will get the game, from the Kickstarter campaign). If you did back the game but forgot to complete the survey, make sure to do so as soon as possible!

Finally, here’s some new screenshots and a trailer for Mighty No. 9:

Mighty No. 9 (Wii U) should now come out in Q1 2016, worldwide. The Nintendo 3DS version will follow soon after.
