Hyrule Warriors Legends: website renewal, more pics

Hyrule Warriors LegendsToday, Koei-Tecmo fully updated the official website for Hyrule Warriors Legends. There’s nothing really new in there, but everything has been put into categories (Story, Stage, Characters, System), which makes browsing much easier (especially for those browsing via their smartphone). There’s also various pictures, though most of them aren’t really new.

Story

Hyrule Warriors Legends features three storylines:

  • the original storyline from Hyrule Warriors
  • a brand new storyline featuring The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • a brand new storyline featuring Linkle

Head after the break for the rest of this post!

Stages

Hyrule Warriors Legends features (at least) 15 stages, including many from the original game. However, those have been updated: in this version, they also have an alternate version (such as Lake Hylia at sundown for example).

  • Hyrule Field
  • Eldin Caves
  • Faron Woods
  • Valley of Seers
  • Death Mountain
  • Lake Hylia
  • Twilight Field
  • Palace of Twilight
  • Skyloft
  • Sealed Grounds
  • Temple of the Sacred Store
  • Temple of Souls
  • Gerudo Desert
  • Temple of Earth and Wind
  • The Wind Waker (Forsaken Fortress, Windfall Island, Dragon Roost Island)

Characters

Unless Koei-Tecmo reveals more characters by January 21th, Hyrule Warriors Legends will have a total of 24 playale characters. Those from Hyrule Warriors have the same weapons as in the original (with the exception of Ganondorf so far), and the new characters only seem to have one weapon each.

  • Link
  • Impa
  • Zelda
  • Lana
  • Sheik
  • Darunia
  • Ruto
  • Midna
  • Agitha
  • Fi
  • Zant
  • Agahnim
  • Ganondorf (+ Trident)
  • Cia
  • Volga
  • Wizzro
  • Midna (True Form)
  • Young Link
  • Tingle
  • Tetra
  • King of Hyrule
  • Toon Link
  • Skull Kid
  • Linkle

The DLC characters from Hyrule Warriors are all included from the start, but they’re not transferrable. Also, the only elements transferrable to Hyrule Warriors on Wii U are the new characters and the new weapons.

System

Just like in Hyrule Warriors, you will be able to use various (upgradeable) items in Hyrule Warriors Legends:

  • Bombs
  • Bow
  • Ocarina (new, allows you to teleport to Owl Statues)
  • Boomerang
  • Hookshot
  • Hammer (new)

Adventure Mode has also been updated, and now features a map based on The Great Sea from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

A feature called My Fairy was added (click here for more details!).

Finally, there’s several new features such as being able to switch characters at any time, teleporting using the Ocarina, and Smash Boost Power (used against bosses).

Hyrule Warriors Legends (3DS) comes out on January 21st in Japan, and March 25th in Europe and North America.
