Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity ships over 3 million units worldwide

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was released last week worldwide (on November 20th to be precise), and it seems to be off to a great start. Koei-Tecmo have just announced that total shipments for the game have passed 3 million units worldwide. While it’s not specificied, that number most definitely includes both retail shipments and digital sales.

Koei-Tecmo points out that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has set a new record for the Warriors series: no other entry has ever shipped over 3 million units… and it’s not even been a full week since it was released! There’s no doubt the game will enjoy strong sales during the holiday season, but also throughout 2021 if the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is indeed releasing in 2021.

On Thursday, Famitsu will reveal sales data for the Japanese market (retail only). Unfortunately, we will have to wait for the latest Nintendo financial results in January/February to know how many units the game sold in Europe and North America.
