Fire Emblem if: more details about My Castle, translated scan and overview video

Famitsu

On Tuesday, we got quite a bit of new details about Fire Emblem if, thanks to the usual Famitsu leaks. Unfortunately, the leaks were quite incomplete, and we had to wait until the magazine was out before getting the rest of the details.

First, we have a description for some of the buildings from the My Castle feature:

– Arena: works pretty much the same way as in the previous Fire Emblem games. There’s one difference, though: you now bet ressources instead of gold. If you think you’re not going to win a fight, you can always surrender mid-battle, before it’s too late. The Arena changes depending on which character is managing it.

– Forge: a place where you can use your ressources to improve your weapons. Apparently, basic weapons require one unit of minerals to be forged. The stats that you can improve are mostly the same as in Fire Emblem: Awakening (Might, Hit Rate and Critical rate), but there’s also a new addition (Weapon). If you want, you can even give a special name to each of your weapons.

There’s various options at the Forge, such as “Forge weapon”, “Name weapon”, “Erase name”, and “mineral exchange”.  The last one is used to acquire minerals from other Castles (if you can’t StreetPass other players), but the exchange rate is rather steep (5 of your minerals against 1 of the remaining types of minerals).

– Lilith’s shrine: a place where you can feed Lilith, the Star Dragon. Doing so will make her (yes, her) level up, and the stats improved depend on the food you give her. Famitsu gives an example: giving her some Meat will increase her HP and Strength. But what does Lilith do, by the way? Well, she helps you when you fight during the StreetPass battles. She can wield staves and breath weapons, such as the Star Dragon Breath.

– Accessory Shop: a place where you can buy accessories, which can be seen on-screen during event scenes.

Famitsu also gives some more details about the “face-rubbing” feature, accessible from My Room. As mentionned before, you can invite some characters in your room in order to spend some quality time with them. But apparently, your affection level needs to be high enough. You have to keep touching a character’s favorite spot, and doing so make them appear closer on the screen. By the way, it’s possible to invite just anybody, regardless of their gender.

Finally, a new character is introduced:

Zero (Thief): a former thief who now serves under Prince Leon from Nohr. He’s described as a really sadistic individual, who loves to watch other people suffer. His personal skill is called “Nohrian Restraint”, which allows him to send someone to the prison in My Castle (provided you’ve built one), by using the appropriate command on a generic enemy. Orochi can also send enemies to prison with her personal skill, “Hoshidan capture”.

You can actually go talk to the prisoners, and “scout” them using bribes (with ressources) or by persuading them, so that they can join your army. It’s possible to free them if you’re not interested in keeping them. Apparently, those generic enemies all have their own name, most likely so that you don’t confuse them with your own generic soldiers.

There’s only two cells in the Prison, which means you can only capture two generic enemies per battle. It’s not currently known if you can unlock more cells by upgrading the Prison. If you chose to go persuade a prisonner, it’s the character managing the prison who goes talk to him. Apparently, they each have their own methods, and Orochi’s are a bit… questionable, to say the least.
