Dragon Quest VIII: TV Commercials and Making-off video

Dragon Quest VIIIThe Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King comes out in exactly one week in Japan, and it’s today that Square-Enix has decided to start its advertising campaign on TV. This morning, the company revealed not one, but four TV commercials for the game. Since all videos are region-locked, we merged them and reuploaded them.

There’s two kinds of commercials: the first two shows gameplay footage, with a focus on the voice acting and battles respectively. The other two are live-action commercials, and it’s for those that Square-Enix made a making-off video. The video (available below) shows how the production team traveled all the way to Czech Republic in order to shoot the TV commercials.

First, the team went to Prague, where they met the actors for the main characters; we get to see some of the props and costumes used for the commercials. Then, they traveled 200km to a castle located in Bouzov, where the commercials were shot. This part allows us to see some footage from the long version of the commercials, which should be uploaded on YouTube soon.

Without further ado, here’s the TV commercials (and the Making-off video) for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King on Nintendo 3DS:
