Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional: details and screens (Nochorin, Ride Union)

Today, Square-Enix shared the latest batch of details and screenshots for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional. Let’s start with Nochorin: your partner during your adventure. You can talk to him at any time, in order to have him help you. To do so, simply touch the icon at the bottom left corner of the bottom screen, or talk to him directly.

It’s via Nochorin that you can access three of the features of the game:

Story Shortcut: did you already play through Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3? Then you can skip ahead to specific sections of the story. You can chose to either skip to the next story segment entirely, or only up until the next boss;
Monster Scouting: you can ask Nochorin to scout monsters, which is great for tough monsters that are hard to scout. In fact, it looks like there’s even monsters you can only scout thanks to Nochorin!
Items: Nochorin can pick up items and materials in the world for you. Sometimes, he can bring back a lot of items at once, and/or some rare items and materials.

Next, we have a brand new feature called Ride Union. When both the protagonist and Nochorin are riding a monster during battle, you can unite (or fuse) the two monsters using the Ride Union command, in order to create a giant and extremely powerful monster. The monster that the protagonist is riding absords Nochorin’s.

With Ride Union, both the size and power of each monster adds up, and you end up with a giant and really powerful monster. But that’s not all… you also get access to exclusive skills and characteristics, such as:

Sorcerer’s Flame (skill): a fiery explosion that deals more damage if the user’s physical strength is low;
God’s Judgement (skill): a rather impressive thunderbolt;
Dragon Kill (characteristic): greatly increases damage dealt to Dragon-type enemies;
Item Drop Up (characteristic): greatly increases your chance of getting an item drop from enemies, making it easier to get specific rare items.
