Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3: details and screens for the Masters Road, more

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3A few days ago, Square-Enix revealed a new feature in Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3, called Masters Road. Yesterday, the company shared even more details for the game (including said Masters Roads, but not only), along with plenty of screenshots. As usual, the translations are by Gematsu.

Masters Roads are basically obstacle courses, and your goal is to reach the goal while avoiding traps/obstacles (such as fire, or moving platforms), and monsters. To do so, you need to use the various riding techniques at your disposal. In fact, you can even switch the monster you’re currently riding. If you fall down before reaching the goal, you will have to start from the very beginning.

Entrances to the Masters Roads can be found all over the world, but they do not appear on the map, and you have to find them on your own (which is easier said than done, as they’re generally well hidden). You need the Heaven Guide Stone to be able to get in the Masters Roads.

Square-Enix also gives details about the tears in space-time, that you can find using your Reactor. They lead to another dimension, where powerful monsters and monsters masters (and various other things) can be found. It’s not a place you should visit unprepared, so make sure you’re ready before entering. By defeatring the monsters masters found in that alternate dimension, you can get precious items.

Another new feature of Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3: Super Vital Synthesis. Basically, it’s a Super Monster Synthesis, which allows you to create monsters that are automatically SS-Rank. What’s more, the monster you end up with will keep the same characteristics as the “parents”. You can even chose its size!

Square-Enix gives the following example:

  • Mimic (Normal Body, Absorb Magic, Fast Action)

+

  • Dragon Slime (Small Body, Parameter Break, Glance Up):

= SS-Rank Lumbering Machine, with Fast Action.

Finally, Square-Enix reveals that if you ride on a big enough monster, you can go and fly in the sky. There, you will find unique monsters, but also unseen lands.
