Disney Infinity 3.0 officially revealed, trailer and screens

After various rounds of rumours in the past few months, Disney has finally revealed Disney Infinity 3.0. And the rumours / leaks were spot-on: this third version of the game will focus on the Star Wars universe.

Just like the previous games, Avalanche is heading the development, but this time around, other studios are also working on specific packs and systems:

– Ninja Theory: working on the pack-in playset, called “Twilight of the Republic” (with Anakin and Ahsoka as protagonists, and Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Darth Maul available as separate figurines). They also improved melee combat, adjusting the timing and adding depth (for advanced players).
– Studio Gobo (who worked on the Pirates of the Caribbean playset from Disney Infinity): working on the playset called “Rise Against the Empire”, which is basically a highlight reel of the most memorable moments of the classic Star Wars trilogy. Some of the characters include Luke, Leia, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Han Solo, and more.
– Sumo Digital: they improved the driving gameplay, which is quite important as one of the Toy Box mini-games is a kart racer.
Of course, Star Wars characters aren’t restricted to their respective playset, and they can cross over between them. That means you can have some rather fun and impossible scenarios if you so desire! As for the Toy Box, it has also been improved with an updated hub world, new toys, and even a farming system.

Disney also announced various playsets and figurines, such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Pixar’s Inside Out (Joy, Disgust, Anger, Fear, and Sadness), a Marvel set by United Front Games (Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, and more), but also Mickey / Minnie Mouse, Sam Flynn and Quorra (from Tron: Legacy), Mulan, Olaf and more.

Just like last year, Disney Infinity 3.0 will come out this Autumn, only on the Wii U. The starter pack will cost 64.99$ (less than the previous years). Disney will also released a new batch of Power Discs, which don’t come in bling bags anymore.

Here’s some pictures, and the reveal trailer:
