Gal*Gun Returns

Inti Creates have announced their latest game for the Nintendo Switch: Gal*Gun Returns. It will be released on January 28th in Japan, and in 2021 in Europe and North America (courtesy of PQube).

Here’s the debut trailers, some details (including some about the characters), the list of key features, and some screenshots + character artworks:

Gal*Gun is the entertaining story of a young man who becomes “super popular” with the opposite sex and is now living the “unfortunate” life of having every lady that looks his way confessing their undying love for him. But he must steel himself and fend these would-be lovers off with his ‘special weapon’ (known as the Pheromone Shot), as he tries to win the affections of one of the main protagonists. Gal*Gun is the crazy combination of arcade-style shooting action and dating sim that truly has no equal.

Despite its ridiculous premise, new players might just be surprised at how well the game plays as a shooting game! Many Gal*Gunners around the world have already experienced this sensation since the series debut in January of 2011, allowing the series to continue to stir the hearts of people to this day!

Kaname Nonomiya (VA – Haruka Miyake)

A 2nd year student, she’s Tenzou’s childhood friend and is a kind, but a bit meddling type of girl. Her family lives at a shrine where she works as a shrine maiden. She is completely obsessed with anything involving ghosts and spirits, and goes into full super-fan mode whenever she comes into contact with them. When it comes to romance, she has a tough time sharing her feelings and is not good at even talking about it. While she’s not very athletic or physically fit, good luck trying to stop her if she’s on a rampage about something. She’s also quite an airhead.

Kaoruko Sakurazaki (VA – Maaya Uchida)

A 3rd year student, she’s the only daughter of the head of the extremely wealthy Sakurazaki conglomerate. She’s incredibly prideful and confident. She’s usually a kind girl, but she is not afraid to unleash her fury against those who slight her in some way. She’s very popular with guys and gals alike, to the point where there are multiple fan clubs for her at the academy. Joined the art club because she enjoys painting. She also excels at many sports at a near-pro level, with the one exception of swimming.

Akira Hibuki (VA – Fumiko Uchimura)

A 2nd year student, she’s been in the same class as Tenzou since middle school, and considers herself the academy’s “defender of justice”. She can’t stand seeing the weak get bullied…and may have a bit of a brother complex. She may seem tough as nails, but her heart is quite fragile, and is quick to tears and easily embarrassed. Completely unable to be docile with the one she loves, and can’t help but end up using a lot of “colorful” language with them.

Aoi Uno (VA – Nozomi Yamamoto)

A first year student, she has a pretty rough way of speaking and is not afraid to say exactly what is on her mind. She’s a pure rock’n’roll girl who is doing everything she can to make her rock star dreams come true. The other girls treat her like a cute little pet bunny. She comes from an incredibly poor family, and is inherently terrible at academics. She’s interested in romance, but doesn’t have the slightest clue about it.

Patako (VA – Yukari Tamura)

A 3rd year student at the Angel Academy, she’s a rather clumsy and scatterbrained girl. She had the super easy task of shooting a single love arrow at a target to complete the requirements for graduation, but she royally screwed up and unloaded a bunch into her target, and thus bombed the exam. When it comes to Tenzou, she and acts and speaks in ways that are very…not angel-like.

Ekoro (VA – Yui Horie)

A 2nd year student at the Angel Academy, she’s kind of nosy and is good at pointing out the faults of others.. She showed great promise to be an elite angel, but after she started hanging out with Patako, her reputation around the academy began to tank. At first glance, she can come off as a rather shy and gentle girl. Ekoro looks up to Patako, whose personality couldn’t be any more different than her own. Her life’s work is to look after and take care of Patako.

  • Huge cast with over 70 girls! – Add the main heroines, angels, and all the students/faculty at the academy together, and you get a huge cast of over 70 characters! In addition to the students and faculty, you may even cross paths with some ladies who are pretty rare sightings! Let those Pheromone Shots fly to stop the hoards from girls trying to confess their love to you, and you just might be in for a happy ending with your one true love!
  • Aim for the Ecstacy Shot! – Every girl has a weak spot where Pheromone Shots are extra effective! You know you found it when you see things like 「ハッ」 and 「キュン」 appear! Steady your aim and land a shot there, and that’ll trigger an Ecstacy Shot, which gives a girl euphoria in just one shot!
  • Enjoy the satisfaction of Doki Doki Mode! – Once you meet certain conditions, you can really concentrate and marvel at (shoot) a girl from a bunch of different angles in Doki Doki Mode! Fill that girl’s Doki Doki Gauge within the time limit, and not only will you give her euphoria, but you’ll also be rewarded for your…efforts!
  • An absolute wealth of panty designs! – True aesthetics in those hidden areas is what Gal*Gun is all about! A grand total of 423 types of panties are waiting to be discovered! There may even be more to come?!
  • The girls are even cuter than before! – Ten years have passed since the original, and these gals are even more charming now than ever! Some characters have new hair styles and other small changes that make them stand out even more!
  • Event CGs Added Everywhere! – Brand new CGs have been added for each heroine’s introduction, and in a bunch of instances throughout the story as well!
  • Fully-voiced dialogue – Every single one of the 70+ girls in the game is fully voiced by a wonderful group of voice actresses! Enjoy every minute of this amazing cast’s performance!
  • Play a variety of game modes! – Fall in love with the girl of your dreams in Story Mode, show off your sharpshooting skills in Score Attack Mode, live out your fantasy of a multi-person Doki Doki Mode with Doki Doki Carnival, and a whole lot more!
  • Complete Gallery mode! – Over 250 illustrations, both old and new, are ready for you to enjoy!
Most of the DLC costumes come pre-loaded! – From bikinis to aprons and more, the popular DLC from back when is ready to be enjoyed from the get-go!

Gal*Gun Returns (Switch) comes out on January 28th in Japan, and in 2021 in Europe and North America.
