Remember the Nintendo Enterntainment System / Famicom book that went on Kickstarter a few weeks ago? Well, it’s not releasing anymore, as Nintendo shot down the project mere hours before the campaign was supposed to end with a DCMA request:

This Kickstarter project makes unauthorized use of Nintendo’s copyrights as noted above. The description of the book states that it is “mainly visual”, and the campaign shows pages of the book which consist simply of large screenshots copied directly from Nintendo’s video games. This campaign also makes use of a mark that is confusingly similar to registered trademarks owned by Nintendo. Specifically, the project’s creator is using a modified version of Nintendo’s “Official Nintendo Seal” mark (protected by U.S. Trademark Registration Nos. 3114368 (Class 16), 3117154(Class 28), 3173562(Class 9), and 1570911(Classes 16 and 28)) and Nintendo’s “Original Seal of Quality” mark (protected by EU Trademark Regisration No. 3475977 (Classes 9, 16, 28) to promote this project. This use of Nintendo’s intellectual property may confuse Kickstarter backers into thinking this project is sponsored or licensed by Nintendo, when in fact it is not.

Here’s a statement Nintendo sent to GameInformer:

Nintendo is an innovative company that values its intellectual property,” a company representative told us via email. “We are aggressive in protecting our rights and will not permit third parties to use our creative works in an unauthorized manner.

Head after the break for the rest of this post!

Disney Art Academy

Here’s the latest (European) trailer for Disney Art Academy, which comes out in two weeks in Europe (on July 15th)! The official website can be found there.

Paradise Lost: First Contact

Yesterday, Ashtree Works posted a pretty meaty Kickstarter update for Paradise Lost: First Contact. In this one, they talk about a lot of things, including enhanced behaviour for NPC and Subject W, New HUD elements and User Interface prompts, In-game timers, Enhanced animations and new designs, and much more. The best thing? The update is filled to the brim with gifs and even some videos!

Hover: Revolt of Gamers

Today, the developers of Hover: Revolt of Gamers also posted a Kickstarter update of the game. In this game, they discuss the later update they pushed for the Steam version of the game, which includes a brand new level.

Tumblestone

Tumblestone is the latest game from the The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, and it’s releasing on July 12th on Wii U, in Europe and North America. And it turns out the game is also coming to the New Nintendo 3DS later this year, according to the developers! Unfortunately, we don’t know if there will also be a retail release, like on Wii U…

Aqua Moto Racing Utopia

Here’s more gameplay footage for the PC version of Aqua Moto Racing Utopia (also coming to Wii U down the line):
