Dai Gyakuten Saiban: development is now over; to be featured in Capcom TV next week

Shu Takumi’s tweets

Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken is the first entry in a new Ace Attorney, and fans will be able to play it starting July 9th in Japan. With less than a month to go, it’s no wonder that the development has already ended, and Shu Takumi (Director) actually confirmed it on Twitter on Saturday.

Dai Gyakuten Saiban

Shu Takumi told us that on Friday evening, the team celebrated the completion of Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken. He was secretly glad the buffet didn’t have any sushi or Italian food, because of an acute gastroenteritis he had been suffering from for the past week or so. He actually went to see a doctor, and he explained to him that he had only been eating sushi and Italian food recently… no wonder he got sick!

On Friday evening, 60 of the developers gathered at a wedding location, where they celebrated the game’s completion. Apparently, a special “Jury Battle” game was prepared, featuring the one and only Prosecutor Barok van Zieks. There was even a special prize: a custom-made Barok van Zieks glass, which is quite rare… there’s only one in the world!

Shu Takumi also explained that he still finds the job of Director rather tough, because even though it’s “his” game, the team members are the ones doing most of the work.

What he find hard is to ask people to correct their work so that they fit “his” vision. That being said, he believes he had a great team working with him, and that everyone can all look back to this project with a smile on their face (despite the many “battles” that took place during development).

He then posted a picture of the development team, which sure has grown over the year. After all, they were only 7 for the very first Ace Attorney game!

Finally, Shu Takumi explained that he was pretty happy to see people enjoying the demo, and tweeting about it, and he encourages players to go try it out.
