2v2 Ranked Team Elo Improvements

Team Elo is being improved by accelerating the amount gained after a win based on the difference between the average of both players’ personal 2v2 Elo ratings and their current Team Elo rating.

For example, a Diamond team will get their Team Elo to Diamond in much fewer games than before. Please note that Team Elo rating is used for leaderboard rankings and Glory, while matchmaking has always considered a team’s personal 2v2 Elo average.

XP Gain Improvements

Players now gain more XP for fighting high rated opponents in matchmaking queues! Bonus XP gain is applied based on the Elo of your opponent (or average personal Elo of an opposing team). An extra 5% at 1390 (Gold 1) that scales to 50% at 2000 (Diamond 1). A 100% bonus (double XP) is applied when playing against a Valhallan opponent.

Improvements

  • Fixed a bug where dodging with a Sticky Bomb attached would detach and reattach it to yourself, which would cause the KO to count as an SD instead of giving credit to the passer or thrower.
  • Fixed a bug where having cross-inventory active while offline would not let you play offline games.

Blasters
The Blasters Neutral Light and Side Light have received a minor reduction to their Damage, bringing the overall rate of damage closer in line with other similarly long-range weapons. The Side Light has also received an increase in Recover time on miss, granting a more reliable window to counter this attack. We have increased the Time to Hit and decreased the threat coverage of the Neutral Air to better match its range, defensive utility, and string potential. The Blasters Recovery now has less Force to better match the distance it carries opponents before the final shot.

  • Blasters Neutral Light: Decreased Damage from 17 to 15.

  • Cannon Neutral Light: Increased total Recover time on miss from 13 Fixed/9 Variable to 15 Fixed/9 Variable; Decreased threat coverage of the second blast on hit.
  • Cannon Down Air: Decreased size and threat coverage of the grounded version.

Gauntlets
The Gauntlets Side Air now has less Stun, giving a shorter window to confirm team combos and wider opportunities to escape from follow-up attacks.

  • Gauntlets Side Air: Decreased Stun of the final hit from 20 to 18.

The Hammer Neutral Light has received a decrease to its Recover time on miss to better match its relatively low range and threat coverage.

  • Hammer Neutral Light: Decreased total Recover time on miss from 6 Fixed/13 Variable to 4 Fixed/13 Variable.

Katar
We have increased the Katar Neutral Light’s Recover time on miss to allow for a greater window to counter this attack. The Katar Neutral Air now allows less acceleration for more reliable counterattacks, as it could previously be too evasive on miss.

Experimental Test Features

We’ve added two new Test Features to Experimental queues. Post Hitstun Dodge Consistency makes it so players can’t dash for 4 frames after being stunned, forcing a Dodge if they use the Dodge/Dash input. Two of Cassidy’s Signature Attacks have been reworked, including adding a new feature to her Down Hammer! We’ve also made adjustments to the Backdash Buffs Test Feature.

Dash Changes

An initial backdash will no longer punish players with extra startup time, which often happens accidentally and ruins the player’s intended input. Decreased startup time of Dashes while Dash dancing brings the inputs closer to the actions and lines up with the current input buffer, making them feel better to perform.

Live

  • Backdash startup time (from neutral): 6 frames
  • Forward Dash startup time (from neutral): 1 frame
  • Initial Dash length required (before Dashing in the opposite direction): 7 frames
  • Backdash and Forward Dash startup time (during dash dance): 6 frames

New

  • Backdash startup time (from neutral): 1 frame
  • Forward Dash startup time (from neutral): 1 frame
  • Initial Dash length required (before Dashing in the opposite direction): 7 frames
  • Backdash and Forward Dash startup time (during Dash dance): 4 frames

Post-Hitstun Dodge Consistency

Follow-up attacks are made more consistent across all Weapons by making Dash no longer able to get a player out of a combo earlier than a Dodge would.

The Dodge/Dash input already forces a Dodge when pressed while coming out of hitstun for 4 frames.

  • A special case allowing players to bypass this with a Dash using a down-diagonal input has been removed.

The Dash input is now locked out for 4 frames while coming out of hitstun.

  • This prevents players from being able to escape a dodgeable combo while their Dodge is down in some cases.

Cassidy Signature Rework

Cassidy gets an entirely new tool while retaining the original.

New Down Hammer changes

  • Cassidy will now throw her lasso and trap her opponents in it.
  • Bonus: Also reworked on Globox!

New Side Hammer

  • Charge variant will perform the original Down Hammer tornado Signature.
  • Uncharged Side Hammer remains unchanged.
Game Improvements

Gameplay

  • Added consistency with Battle Boots Ground Pound. Previously, it wouldn’t act the same as other steerable Ground Pounds on release. Now, players need to let go of the Heavy Attack button to activate the ground pound – making it behave more similar to Gauntlets Ground Pound.

UI

  • The Battle Pass Track UI has been expanded to allow for more icons to be displayed on the track – including a Legend Skin’s Weapons! This is to improve clarity on what items are being rewarded.
  • “Universal Color Scheme” has been renamed to “All Legends Color Scheme.”
  • “Team Emote” has been renamed to “Buddy Emote.”

Art & Animation

  • Fixed a bug where the background of Shipwreck Falls was not animating in Experimental queues.
  • “Halo” Map upscaled for better resolution.

Localization

  • Updated localization for the Raptoodle Avatar.
Bug Fixes

UI

  • Fixed a bug where your Mammoth Coin inventory wouldn’t update immediately after purchasing DLC Packs.

Art & Animation

  • Fixed a bug that made the Mongoose Emote always face to the right.

Gameplay

  • Fixed a bug where “hold to pause” wouldn’t pause when spectating other matches.

Graduated Test Features

Downward Aerial Attack Consistency is graduating into all queues!

This feature makes it easier to perform a downward attack without being platform canceled by a soft platform. Down Light or Down Signature attacks will ignore platform canceling when the down input is held for 4 or more frames.

This prevents accidental platform cancels when a fastfall Down-Air or Ground-Pound was intended.

Balance

This patch contains Red Raptor’s first round of adjustments, which makes him legal for use in official tournaments beginning with the 2023 Summer Championship. Other general balance is locked for the upcoming Summer Championship.

Red Raptor

  • We have increased the Recover time on Red Raptor’s Neutral Orb for greater risk to better match its significant threat coverage. Red Raptor’s Side Orb now has greater Time to Hit, a slower maximum travel speed, less travel speed during its Recover time, and greater Recover time, allowing for more opportunity to dodge and punish this highly mobile signature. We have also reduced the Force for less reward to better match the high utility of this Signature.
  • Red Raptor Neutral Orb: Increased Recover time from 20 to 23.
  • Red Raptor Side Orb: Increased Time to Hit from 17 to 19; Decreased Force from 55 Fixed/50 Variable to 55 Fixed/48 Variable; Increased Recover time from 28 to 29; Decreased Maximum travel speed; Slightly decreased travel speed after the dismount.
Bug Fixes

Cross-Inventory

Patch 7.09 introduces the first phase of Brawlhalla Account Linking – Cross-Inventory! Cross-Inventory is now available on Steam, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, iOS, & Android. PlayStation will become available at a later date.

What is Cross-Inventory?

Cross-Inventory allows you to combine the inventories of your different Brawlhalla accounts across different platforms so that Items you’ve purchased with Mammoth Coins, Gold, or Glory can be used on one platform. Mammoth Coins & platform exclusives are not shared across platforms.

Getting started

  • Step 1

In Brawlhalla’s game settings, select the new option “Account Linking” and sign into or create your Ubisoft account.

Note: A Ubisoft account is required to utilize account linking in Brawlhalla. However, the Ubisoft Connect launcher is not required.

  • Step 2

Link the account from the platform you are on to your Ubisoft account. This will need to be done from all platforms you wish to connect to your Ubisoft account.

Note: You can only connect one account from each platform to your Ubisoft account.

  • Step 3

Choose the platform you wish to play on and log in to Brawlhalla. Select the “Account Linking” option from the top right menu. You will now see a list of all the accounts that are linked. From here, you can choose one account from the list to be the active linked account. The account you choose will now share its inventory with the platform account you are currently playing on.

Note: The active linked account can be changed at any time within Brawlhalla, but only one can be active at a time.

  • Step 4

When Cross-Progression is released, you will also be able to select between your current platform account or the active linked account to earn progression on, while still sharing the inventory of the active linked account.

New Test Features

We’re introducing a new Test Feature – Downward Aerial Attack Consistency – which reduces the chance of accidentally doing a grounded attack when you meant to do an aerial one, and additions to the existing Backdash Buffs feature.

Downward Aerial Attack Consistency

An attempted Down-Air or Ground Pound will no longer result in a platform canceled Down-Light Attack or Down-Signature Attack when performed near a soft platform if the “down” input has been held for 4 or more frames before the “attack” input. This results in much fewer accidentally grounded downward attacks on soft platforms when an aerial downward attack was intended.

Backdash Buffs Update

Increased startup frames of forward dash and backdash during dash dancing from 2 frames to 3 frames (still down from the original 6 frames on live). This does not affect the initial backdash startup time of 1 frame in test features which allows players to immediately attack out of a backdash, and which matches the forward dash startup time on live.

Graduated Test Features

Platform Cancel Improvements has graduated into all queues. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback during the experimental period!

Platform Cancel Improvements

Players will always get a forward dash when performing a platform cancel dash.

Game Improvements

User Experience

  • New “Damage” preference setting for Team Icons will dynamically color code Team Icons based on the player’s damage.
  • New “Hold to pause” preference setting to prevent accidental pauses – when enabled from the preference menu, tapping the pause button will do nothing. Players must hold the button for 0.7 seconds for it to open. This setting does not affect replays.

User Interface

  • Moved the score counter a few pixels to the left, so it doesn’t overlap with the health bar anymore.

Art & Animation

  • Adjusted the Cannon jump and falling animations to fix instances where some Cannon Weapon Skins poke through the Legend’s head.
  • Reduced total number of textures on Yumiko to be better performant.

Balance

This patch brings several balance changes based on top player feedback following the Spring Championship and Dreamhack San Diego. It also contains Thea’s first round of adjustments based on ranked performance and community feedback, which makes her legal for official tournaments.

Battle Boots

The Battle Boots Neutral Air is a very quick attack that provides sizable threat coverage around the user, so we have slightly increased the Recover time on miss and slightly decreased the rear threat coverage to allow for wider opportunities to retaliate against this attack.

  • Battle Boots Neutral Air: Increased total Recover time on miss from 9 Fixed/12 Variable to 10 Fixed/12 Variable; Slightly decreased rear threat coverage at the end of the attack.

Blasters

We have decreased the total Damage on the Blasters Down Air and Recovery attacks to slightly reduce the Weapon’s overall rate of building damage. The Blasters Side Air now has slightly greater Recover time on miss and less allowed movement during the Recover time to provide wider opportunities to retaliate against this attack.

  • Blasters Side Air: Increased total Recover time on miss from 5 Fixed/28 Variable to 6 Fixed/28 Variable; Decreased allowed acceleration and maximum speed during the Recover time on miss.
  • Blasters Down Air: Decreased Damage from 17 to 15.
  • Blasters Recovery: Decreased Damage from 22 to 20.

Bow

The Bow Side Light and Neutral Air now have slightly greater Recover time on miss, while the Neutral Air also has slightly less allowed movement during the Recover time. This provides slightly wider opportunities to retaliate against these attacks, better matching their overall speed and threat coverage.

  • Bow Side Light: Increased total Recover time on miss from 6 Fixed/19 Variable to 8 Fixed/19 Variable.
  • Bow Neutral Air: Increased total Recover time on miss from 5 Fixed/24 Variable to 6 Fixed/24 Variable; Slightly decreased allowed acceleration and maximum speed during the Recover time on miss.

Greatsword

The Greatsword Side Light Opener’s setup location is now slightly closer to the user on average, most notably when performed during movement such as a Dash or Chase Dodge. Previously, the target could be sent too far for traditional chain follow-up attacks when striking during the later part of the Hit Window during movement.

  • Greatsword Side Light Opener: Altered setup location to be slightly lower and closer to the user.

Hammer

The Hammer Down Light now has less Recover time on miss and greater threat coverage at the front of the attack. These changes reduce the risk attached to this combo starter, allowing for more reliable use in the neutral game.

  • Hammer Down Light: Decreased total Recover time on miss from 7 Fixed/20 Variable to 5 Fixed/20 Variable; Slightly increased overall threat coverage at the front of the attack.

Katars

We have slightly decreased the Stun of the Katars Neutral Air to open Dodge Windows between some follow-up attacks. We have also reduced the allowed movement during the Recover time to provide wider opportunities to retaliate against this attack. The Katars Down Air now has greater Recover time on miss for the grounded version to provide wider opportunities to retaliate against this attack, given its pivotal role in most strings.

  • Katars Neutral Air: Decreased Stun from a range of 24~17 to a range of 23~16; Decreased allowed acceleration and maximum speed on miss.
  • Katars Down Air: Increased total Recover time on miss for the grounded version from 7 Fixed/10 Variable to 9 Fixed/10 Variable.

Orb

The Orb Side Air now allows for slightly less movement during the Recover time to provide wider opportunities to retaliate against this attack.

  • Orb Side Air: Decreased allowed acceleration and maximum speed on miss.

Rocket Lance

The Rocket Lance Down Light now has slightly greater Stun, granting tighter Dodge Windows for follow-up attacks and specific combos at the highest Dexterity values. The Rocket Lance Down Air’s aerial version now has slightly less threat coverage near the user during the later portion of the Hit Window, allowing for more reliable escape and punish attempts against this attack.

  • Rocket Lance Down Light: Increased Stun from 20 to 21.
  • Rocket Lance Down Air: Slightly reduced threat coverage near the user at the end of the attack for the aerial version.

Caspian

Caspian’s Side Katars now has less Force to better match its unique range and utility in context of the Katars base kit.

  • Caspian Side Katars: Decreased Force from 70 Fixed/54 Variable to 70 Fixed/51 Variable.

Kaya

Kaya’s Down Bow and Down Spear Signatures now have greater Recover time on miss to better match their backwards movement and forward priority.

  • Kaya Down Bow: Increased total Recover time on miss for the ground version from 20 to 22.
  • Kaya Down Spear: Increased total Recover time on miss from 20 to 22.

Lucien

We have decreased the threat coverage and greatly decreased the Force of Lucien’s Down Katars attack to better match its utility as an edgeguard and overall range.

  • Lucien Down Katars: Decreased threat coverage at the front and top of the attack; Decreased Force from 70 Fixed/55 Variable to 62 Fixed/51 Variable.

Magyar

Magyar’s Neutral Hammer now has a faster Minimum Charge time and faster Recover time on miss for less risk when used as an anti-air or as a potential follow-up from a Hammer Down Light. We have decreased the Recover time on Magyar’s Side Greatsword and greatly decreased the Recover time on Magyar’s Down Greatsword for less risk on these grounded attacks.

  • Magyar Neutral Hammer: Decreased Minimum Charge time from 11 to 10; Decreased total Recover time on miss from 23 to 21.
  • Magyar Side Greatsword: Decreased total Recover time from 25 to 23.
  • Magyar Down Greatsword: Decreased total Recover time from 31 to 27.

Mirage

Mirage’s Side Spear now has greater Recover time for its grounded version, allowing for wider opportunities to retaliate against this leaping attack. We have also increased the Recover time on Mirage’s Down Spear and Down Scythe to allow for wider retaliation opportunities, to better match their sizable threat coverage around the user.

  • Mirage Side Spear: Increased total Recover time for the grounded version from 20 to 22.
  • Mirage Down Spear: Increased total Recover time from 20 to 22.
  • Mirage Down Scythe: Increased total Recover time from 21 to 24.

Tezca

We have slightly decreased the vertical threat coverage on Tezca’s Down Battle Boots Signature during its travel, allowing for more reliable escapes from this powerful attack.

  • Tezca Down Battle Boots: Slightly decreased vertical threat coverage.

Thea

Thea’s Side Battle Boots now has greater Minimum Charge time. The Level 1 Charge version now has much greater Recover time and less Force. We have also reduced the vertical threat coverage of all three Charge Levels. These changes provide less reward, and more reliable escape and retaliation opportunities against this attack. Thea’s Down Battle Boots now has much greater Minimum Charge time and much greater Recover time on miss, allowing for greater escape and retaliation opportunities against this attack. We have also decreased the Force of this Signature to better match its overall threat coverage.

  • Thea Side Battle Boots: Increased Minimum Charge time from 8 to 11; Increased total Recover time of the Level 1 Charge version from 15 to 19; Decreased Force of the Level 1 Charge version from 50 Fixed/50 Variable to 50 Fixed/48 Variable; Decreased vertical threat coverage for all Charge Level versions (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3).
  • Thea Down Battle Boots: Increased Minimum Charge time from 11 to 14; Increased total Recover time on miss from 18 to 22; Decreased Force from 55 Fixed/51 Variable to 55 Fixed/49 Variable.
New Test Features

We’re introducing a new Test Feature – Backdash buffs – which reduces the penalty for doing a backdash.

Backdash Buffs

  • The startup time for backdash has been decreased both in neutral and during dash dancing to be more symmetrical with forward dash.
  • Now, just like forward dash, you can attack out of a backdash freely.
  • Other than the slightly reduced impulse speed compared to forward dash, there is no penalty for performing a backdash anymore.

We also removed the extended timing window & required “down” directional input from the platform dash cancel feature (previously called Ledge Cancel) introduced in patch 7.07.

Platform Dash Cancel

  • Previously, the timing window was increased and the inputs required “Down” to be pressed to compensate for accidental dashes when dodging near platforms, but these additions have been removed.
Graduated Test Features

Our newest Gadget, Boomerang, and the Short Hop Accessibility feature are both graduating into all queues! Thanks to everyone for your invaluable feedback during the experimental period.

New Gadget: Boomerang

  • Will now spawn in all modes featuring gadgets!
  • This Gadget flies in a large arc when thrown, homes back to its thrower, and hits anyone in its way.
  • The first gadget to travel through opponents!

Short Hop Accessibility

  • It is now easier to fastfall after a jump by pressing the “down” input any time after jumping.
  • When the minimum height threshold for fastfall is reached after jumping, you begin fastfalling at a near-optimal time without having to wait for the minimum height threshold before pressing ‘Down’.
  • More optimal timing can still be achieved by short-hopping the old fashioned way – by waiting for the minimum height threshold before pressing ‘Down’.
Game Improvements

Art & Animation

  • Demon Island now has an animated background!

User Interface

  • Hey check out that new Logo! Pretty cool, right?
  • Adjusted the Title Reward text on the Battle Pass Reward viewer to be more centered.

Balance

This update contains quality-of-life improvements for several underused Signatures on the least played Legends. This includes Vector’s new Down Rocket Lance Signature which has graduated from Test Features.

Ezio

We have reduced the Recover time on Ezio’s Side Orb as its overall risk and total commitment proved to be too long for its threat coverage compared to other Legends.

  • Ezio Side Orb: Decreased total Recovery time from 25 to 23.

Reno

Reno’s Neutral Orb now has less Recover time on miss for less risk given its role as an anti-air attack.

  • Reno Neutral Orb: Decreased total Recover time on miss from 21 to 19.

Sentinel

Sentinel’s Side Katars has received a significant increase to its visual size and threat coverage. This straight-forward Signature now has a total threat map that is closer in line with similar attacks on other Legends.

  • Sentinel Side Katars: Increased threat coverage; Increased size of visual FX.

Thor

Thor’s Side Orb often felt too stiff in the flow of a match, so we have increased the allowed momentum for more fluid use from general movement, dashes, and chase dodges.

  • Thor Side Orb: Slightly increased the maximum momentum allowed during the startup and first swing.

Vector
Vector’s Experimental Down Rocket Lance has graduated from Test Features! Vector now hops back and transforms into his jet form, then fires two sets of projectiles. This allows for faster coverage of the area in front of Vector that the Side Rocket Lance cannot threaten, and provides an option that does not completely surrender positioning.

  • Vector Down Rocket Lance: Vector now hops back and transforms into his jet form, then fires two sets of projectiles.

Yumiko

Yumiko’s Neutral Bow now has less Recover time to better fit its role as an anti-air attack, and to match its comparatively low priority.

  • Yumiko Neutral Bow: Decreased total Recovery time from 19 to 16.
Bombsketball Update

The platforms for Bombsketball have been redesigned, including all-new art, animations when someone scores a goal, and timers for when a new bomb will spawn. The goals also have backboards, so you can try for a layup and other new strategies. Check it out in the 2v2 Bombsketball Brawl of the Week, Custom Online lobbies, or Offline Play.

Change Colors in Training Mode!

Now, you can change your Color Scheme while training in Training mode just as easily as changing a Legend or Skin!

  • In the “Settings” menu, we added a new row for changing your Color Scheme.
  • Depending on the Map chosen or the base colors of a Skin, if a Color Scheme conflicts with these items, an asterisk will be denoted next to the Color name.
  • This will help you understand the different Color exclusions within Brawlhalla!
New Test Features

We’ve introduced the new Ledge Cancel improvement Test Feature. Ledge Cancel Dashes will always be a forward dash, and it should be easier to diagonal dodge near a soft platform instead of accidentally Ledge Canceling.

  • Ledge Cancel Dash always gives forward dash even when changing direction.
  • Ledge Cancel Dashes are slightly easier to perform, and are harder to do accidentally.
Graduated Test Features

This patch is also graduating 2 previous Test Features into all queues!

  • Vector’s Down Rocket Lance Signature Re-work: Vector now hops back and transforms into his jet form, then fires two sets of projectiles. This attack can be charged or slide charged for greater damage.
  • Disarm FX: A visual effect that shows when a Legend has been disarmed by an opponent. The effect appears as bright colored sparks that fly off the Legend. These FX are distinct from other collision visual FX.
Game Improvements

Art & Animation

  • Tweaked the Boomerang Gadget spin animation to make it more noticeable.
  • Visual adjustments for Aang’s Neutral Gauntlet FX.

User Interface

  • The font and layout of the HUD has been updated.
  • Optimized the Battle Pass Season 2 logo and splash art to improve its UI performance.

Localization

  • Thea’s base Battle Boots in English now have the correct name “PegaSwift Racers.”
  • All localized terms that were added in 7.06 now have updated translations. These include terms for Thea, Volleybrawl, and Ranked Season 28.
  • Ember’s Synthwave Battle Pass Skin now has the correct name “Modular Rift Ember.”
Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a visual bug where The Rock’s torso was not appearing.

  • Fixed a bug with Boomerangs where it would remain in a spinning animation after hitting the floor.
  • Fixed a bug where Battle Boots’ Down Air damage did not trap enemies in a bubble in the Bubble Tag Game Mode.

User Interface

  • Pinned Events in the tournament screen now display “Coming Soon!”
  • Fixed a bug where Battle Pass rewards were not centered properly.

New Test Features

We’ve added new experimental features! As revealed across our social media in the past weeks, we’re adding a new Gadget into the world of Brawlhalla – the Boomerang! This nimble Gadget hits anyone in its way when thrown, and while homing back to its thrower. We’re also testing a new short-hop accessibility feature that aims to reduce the barrier-of-entry to the advanced “fastfall” mechanic. See below for full details!

New Gadget: Boomerang

  • Available to try with Test Features on, in the Experimental queue, or practice with it in Training mode.
  • This Gadget flies in a large arc when thrown, homes back to its thrower, and hits anyone in its way.
  • The first gadget to travel through opponents!

Short-hop Accessibility

  • Designed to reduce the barrier-of-entry to an advanced (but often essential) game mechanic.
  • It allows you to more easily be able to fastfall after a jump by allowing the ‘Down’ input to be held any time after the jump. When the minimum height threshold for fastfall is reached after jumping, you will begin fastfalling at a near-optimal time without having to wait for the minimum height threshold before pressing ‘Down’.
  • More optimal timing can still be achieved by short-hopping the old fashioned way – by waiting for the minimum height threshold before pressing ‘Down’.

Disarmed Visual Effects Revisions

  • Based on player feedback & internal review, we’ve updated the colors on the Disarmed Visual Effects to be more distinct from other collision FX.
Graduated Test Features

The Gadget Bounce Sound FX Test Feature that was introduced for Patch 7.05 has now graduated into all queues:

  • There is now a sound for when a Gadget is thrown and hits the ground. Each Gadget has its own unique sound that changes based on its velocity. The Sidekick Summoner Horn makes a special sound if you throw it just right!
Game Improvements

Art & Animation

  • Brawlhaven and Small Brawlhaven now have animated backgrounds! Take a second to admire the grassy fields and cascading waterfall as you brawl.
  • Performance improvements for Fait, Isaiah, & Sidra – these improve game performance but do not affect gameplay.

User Experience

  • Players will now receive a fanfare at login every time they earn new Account XP Titles (I.E. Legend I) and Birthday Titles (I.E. Veteran of Asgard I).

Map Definitions

  • Fixed a long-standing issue where the offscreen bubble would display for 1 frame at the start of a match.

Gameplay

  • Adjusted the Battle Boots Down Light active input animation so that the user is crouched lower and longer, making it easier to tell when the attack is over.
  • Updated the Charged OG and Pact of Poison Color scheme exclusions.
Bug Fixes

User Interface

  • Fixed a bug where a “Legend II” or higher Title temporarily reverted to the previous “Legend” Title after a client reset.
  • Fixed bugs in Custom Online & Couch Party lobbies where toggling “Teams” to “On” after having selected a Legend for one or more bots would not update their Color Scheme.
  • Fixed a bug where clan names are displayed as “<null>” for bots in Offline Games. Bots will now not display a clan name at all.

User Experience

  • Fixed a rare desync that could occur if a player got KO’d right before sudden death started on a Map that has moving platforms, particularly in the Temple Climb Game Mode.
  • Fixed a bug where bots would still use the default Sidekick in Offline Games even if the player had chosen a Sidekick for them.

Art & Animation

  • Fixed an animation issue with Battle Boots aerial turnaround animation where large torsos would be misaligned.

Account Level titles

As a way for us to thank you for sticking around and playing Brawlhalla, we’re introducing new Titles that are given to players based on their account levels. These begin at level 2 and progress until level 100. The following Titles will be rewarded:

  • Level 2 – Novice
  • Level 10 – Pupil
  • Level 25 – Adept
  • Level 50 – Veteran
  • Level 75 – Hero
  • Level 100 – Legend – This Title comes in an exclusive shade of blue, only shared with the “Developer” Title.

While the account levels only go up to 100, the “Legend” Title ranks up for every additional 100 levels worth of XP earned after getting the Title. All players will retroactively earn their applicable Titles based on XP at login, so check your inventory!

Challenges Preview Update

The Challenges Preview continues to expand! This patch we’re introducing new Rocket Lance and Hammer combos for you to hone your skills.

Rocket Lance Walk Off Combo

  • A powerful Rocket Lance string that will carry your opponent offstage. When doing this in a match, try experimenting with reading your opponent after for an even more devastating effect!

Basic Hammer BnB 1

  • A simple bread and butter combo that Hammer players will use often!
Test Features

We’ve added new experimental features in 7.05! As revealed in the last Development Update Stream, Gadgets now have unique Sound FX for when they hit the ground. We’ve also fine-tuned Vector’s Down Rocket Lance Signature Rework and graduated part of Isaiah’s Side Blasters Signature rework! See below for full details.

Gadget Bounce Sound FX

There is now a sound for when a Gadget is thrown and hits the ground. Each Gadget has its own unique sound that changes based on its velocity. The Sidekick Summoner Horn makes a special sound if you throw it just right!

Signature Attack Reworks

Vector Down Rocket Lance

  • Based on your feedback, Vector now hops backwards at the beginning of the Charge time, but carries greater momentum for improved Slide Charging.
  • The steering during Charge time has been removed to allow for this preservation of momentum.

Isaiah Side Blasters

  • Wider drone movement and quicker Time to Hit have graduated into all queues.
  • The post-attack Charge time did not prove to be useful enough, so this Signature will maintain its original Charge and movement behavior.
Game Improvements

User Interface

Damage color entity flashes match HUD health indicator

  • When a Legend gets hit, they flash the color of their damage. Previously, this color was tiered between white/yellow/orange/red. This caused the damage flash to sometimes be incorrect compared to the HUD health indicator on the top-right of the screen.
  • Now, this color flash on the Legend matches the HUD exactly – with full granularity between all the colors. Not only does this affect Legends that are damaged, but it also affects the ball and the ball trail in Kung Foot and the gates in Horde Mode.

Art & Animation

  • We’ve added new tech for Jaeyun and Ezio so their in-game models will more accurately reflect their character designs. Now Jaeyun’s missing eye and Ezio’s scar will stay on the correct side.
  • Tweaked the Battle Boots’ Side Air hit and the Down Light miss animations.

Game Modes

  • Removed Grumpy Temple and Small Grumpy Temple from the Dice and Destruction game mode Map selection.

Maps

  • Western Air Temple’s camera is now properly centered on the stage. Camera bounds now follow a standard 16:9 ratio, resulting in smoother camera movement and better tracking of players. Left and Right camera bubble distances are also now equal. This gives less area of the map for players to just “swim around” offscreen.
  • Western Air Temple KO Line adjustments: distance to the top knockout line is now much farther. Distance to the bottom knockout line is now slightly farther as well. Left and Right knockout lines are now equal. This brings this Map more in line with other standard Maps.

Gameplay

  • Bots are now more proactive about finding opportunities to pick up a Weapon and spend less time unarmed.
Bug Fixes

User Experience

  • Fixed a bug with the Manage Party menu where once the drop down menu for a Legend/bot was opened, hovering your cursor over another Legend/bot would unintentionally change which Legend/bot you were changing settings for without any visual indication that something had changed. Hovering your cursor over another Legend/bot while the drop down menu is open now has no effect.
  • Fixed a bug where the randomized Emote animations in the Battle Pass Progression screen would always play the same sound instead of playing the appropriate sound to match the current animation.

User Interface

  • Fixed a bug with the Manage Party menu where opening the drop down menu for a bot, then closing it, then opening the menu for a different bot would still display the Bot Difficulty setting for the previous bot.
  • Fixed a bug where purchasing Battle Pass Tiers would cause any subsequent purchase from Mallhalla to erroneously show the purchase confirmation for buying Battle Pass Tiers instead of the confirmation for the item purchased. This was a display bug only and did not have an effect on purchases.
  • Fixed a bug on PC where the “Rejoin Game” prompt is not clickable.
  • Fixed a bug where the South Africa flag did not render in the Public Games List.
  • Added the “Wearing Hat” tag to Nightblade Hattori, and removed the “Wearing Hat” tag from Horus Mirage.
  • Shortened the Training mode menu popup on Nintendo Switch & Xbox One.

Gameplay:

  • Fixed a bug that was causing Capture the Flag and Brawlball matches to experience a rollback at the start of the game.

Test Features

We’re excited to add a new test feature that shows an effect that indicates when a Legend has been disarmed. This can be played in the Experimental queue and any Custom Game with Test Features enabled. Also, the Dodge Cooldown changes have been removed from Test Features and did not graduate.

New Disarmed Visual Effects

There is a new visual effect that shows when a Legend has been disarmed by an opponent. The effect appears as bright colored sparks that fly off the Legend.

Experimental Dodge Cooldown

The Dodge Cooldown changes have been removed from Test Features. The longer cooldown proved to be too punishing and resulted in fewer moments of interaction for most players, with less incentive to maintain ground control or return to the ground.

  • New Dice & Destruction Game Mode
  • Possible conditions include falling bouncy bombs, infinite gadget spawns, armageddon & more.
  • 4 Player FFA
  • 3 Minutes
  • Most points at the end wins!
Test Features

A couple Signature Replacements have entered the Experimental Queue! Signature Replacements include larger reworks than a typical balance update and can include anything ranging from applying new behaviors like Charge Variants or Active Input to more Signatures, all the way up to entirely new Signatures for an existing Legend.

For Isaiah’s Side Blasters, the drone now hits before the Charge time, begins much sooner, and covers more area near the user. The second Signature Replacement gives Vector an entirely new Down Rocket Lance. In this new Signature, Vector can hover left and right during the Charge time, before launching several projectiles on release.

Give these first two Signature Replacements a try in the Experimental Queue, or in a Custom Lobby by turning on Test Features in the Lobby Settings!

  • Isaiah Side Blasters: Introduced a Test Feature version that places the Charge between the drone attack and the rifle attack.
  • Vector Down Rocket Lance: Introduced a Test Feature version where Vector can hover side-to-side and fire horizontal projectiles.
