Bravely Second: over 100h to complete, Producer already has ideas for third game

In this week’s issue, Famitsu has a 20-page article entirely dedicated to Bravely Second: End Layer. It includes an interview with Tomoya Asano (Producer) and Takahashi Masashi (Assistant Producer), who talk about various things such as the game itself, but also the future of the series. Parts of it have already started to leak online, which allows us to get some details a bit early.

However, please note the following details are not 100% confirmed for now.

Tomoya Asano explains that Bravely Second: End Layer is quite the meaty game, and is actually as long as the original. It takes roughly 70 hours to beat the game while doing some of the side-stuff, but you can shorten it to 50 hours if you just focus on the story. On the other hand, if you’re trying to complete everything, you will need over 100 hours.

The producer also explains that he already has some ideas for a potential third entry in the Bravely series (Bravely Third), but that it’s too early to say anything for now. It will all depend on the sales of Bravely Second: End Layer. If they’re good, he’ll definitely present plans for Bravely Third right away. During today’s livestream, he also said he wanted to release something in-between Bravely Second: End Layer and Bravely Third, if possible.

Finally, Takahashi Masashi believes that Bravely Second: End Layer is better than Bravely Default. As for Tomoya Asano, he said that they were able to include many more ideas for gameplay systems and story (as many as they could).

Bravely Second: End Layer (3DS) comes out this Thursday in Japan!
