ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree – Latest trailers showcase the world, characters, combat, and more

Announced for the Nintendo Switch back in October, ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree is a hand-drawn, story-driven, rhythm combat RPG. It will be released on January 27th in Europe and North America.

Here’s the latest trailer for the game:

Inspired by Norse mythology, this hand-drawn, story-driven, rhythm combat RPG blends narrative, exploration, and music all into one special journey. Meet and converse with a slew of diverse characters, explore a haunting take on Midgard and make choices that influence your story and ending.

If you want to see more of the game, you’re in luck: Untold Tales have shared several other trailers, showcasing some of the different aspects of the game. First up: the world!

Will you hear the story written between the lines? A sign on a rock eroded by time, the statue of an old hero, stones arranged by the gods, or the hint of a riddle. The world of ATONE is telling its own story if you listen to it.

The next trailer is all about the characters:

Estra’s path through Midgard is filled with friend and foe alike. Listen to their struggles, understand their stories, and be the leader you were meant to be. But beware of decisions that are not as they seem, as the choices you make can guide you… or lead you astray. Decide the fates of the characters you meet.

The final trailer is about the battle system:

Dance Macabre in ATONE is as literal as it is poetic. Estra encounters the challenges of accepting death, fighting it, embracing it and escaping it.

ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree (Switch – eShop) comes out on January 27th in Europe and North America.
