Ace Attorney: website for the 15th Anniversary, commercials for Ace Attorney 6

Ace Attorney 15th AnniversaryAce Attorney 15th Anniversary

This year, the Ace Attorney series celebrates its 15th Anniversary. Capcom opened a special website for the occasion, but it’s a bit empty at the moment. Along with some screenshots from the various entries, there’s a short message by Shu Takumi, in which he talks about the very first Ace Attorney game on GameBoy Advance.

It all began with one idea, 16 years ago: “a mystery game series the likes of which had never been seen before”. A year later, the work of a team of 7 people came out: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, on GameBoy Advance. Shu Takumi explains that, at the time, the team had the burning desire to create a game that people could enjoy for 10, even 15 years.

But we’re now in 2016, and the series is celebrating its 15th Anniversary. It’s now bigger than ever, which is definitely something moving for its creator. Of course, he believes that the series made it so far thanks to the warm support of fans, which is why he made sure to thank them “from the bottom of [his] heart”. Of course, he hopes fans are looking forward to what’s coming next to the “ever-expanding world of Ace Attorney”.

Ace Attorney 6

AA6 CommercialsTomorrow, at 5.30PM JST, the very first episode of Gyakuten Saiban: Sono Shinjitsu, Igiari! (the Ace Attorney anime series) will air on TV. During the same timeslot, a commercial for Ace Attorney 6 will air, and will be the first in a series of commercials promoting the latest entry in the series.

Those commercials will use the same format as the famous ‘Court skits’, and will air during the same timeslot as the anime series. It was pretty obvious Capcom was going to use it to promote Ace Attorney 6, but at least we now have a confirmation! Unfortunately, we don’t know when the commercials will be uploaded on YouTube.

Ace Attorney 6 (3DS) comes out on June 9th in Japan. A European and North American release has already been confirmed.
