Happy Home Network

Today, Nintendo released an update for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer in Japan, bringing the game to Ver. 2.0. It adds a brand new feature called “Tsukutta/Tsukutter” (Twitter + past tense form of “Tsukuru”, which means “to create” in Japanese), which is called Happy Home Network in English. It allows fans to share designs with other players, but also take part in contests, and more. Click here for more details!

Here’s the changelog for this Ver. 2.0 update:

  • Tsukutta/Happy Home Network and Contest features added;
  • Various changes meant to improve the gameplay experience.

To download this update, you have two options:

  • select Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer from the Home Menu. You should get a prompt if you’re connected to the internet;
  • go to the Nintendo eShop, and search for “Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer”. Alternatively, you can use the option in the Nintendo eShop settings.

To check that you have the latest version (Ver. 2.0), launch the game: you should see “Ver 2.0” at the top right corner of the bottom screen.

amiibo cards

Nintendo launched the first series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards back in July in Japan, but the company severely underestimated demand, which resulted in shortages. The launch of the second series of cards even had to be delayed until further notice, so that the focus could be put on the production of cards for the first series instead.

It looks like things have gone back to normal, and the production for the second series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards has resumed. Today, Nintendo announced that this second series would launch on October 29th in Japan. Just like the first one, it will get 100 cards (on a total of 400 for all four series), and each pack will include 3 cards (sold 324 Yen each).

Here’s some visuals for the cards of the second series:
