Cattle Country – Ver. 1.0.6 (Beneath and Beyond)

MINING RELATED

  • NEW CONTENT – Repeatable Town Project – Fire In The Hole. Causes a reset of mine. Unlocks after Jeb’s third heart cutscene.
  • NEW CONTENT – Drill added for faster digging. Unlocks at Mining Level 10. Player will receive a letter about it.
  • NEW CONTENT – Scavenger Anvil added. Breaks down items to reclaim some components. Unlocks at Mining Level 6.
  • NEW CONTENT – Players have a % chance to encounter Clickable Mine Objects in the mine with loot ranging from mine torches, ladders, platforms, elevators, dynamite to Ores, processed goods, crops, seeds, coins etc.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Mining helmet auto-equips in the mines and swaps back when leaving.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • NEW CONTENT – Hay Dropper added. Auto-feeds hay for livestock. Unlocks at Farming Level 8.
  • NEW CONTENT – Scratch Post added. Place in a barn or coop to keep animals happy (simulates player petting the animals). Unlocks at Farming Level 9.
  • NEW CONTENT – Aquariums added to put your fish in. Small unlocked on Fishing Level 2. Medium unlocked on Fishing Level 5. Large unlocked on Fishing Level 8.
  • NEW CONTENT – Play a tune to summon your horse. Unlocks once a player has built a stable and obtained your own horse.
  • NEW CONTENT – Added walleye fish to lakes in spring/fall. It was previously uncatchable.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Added letters that inform the player of items they have already unlocked, from this update.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Town Hall shows previews of needed donation items.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Emily now sells seeds out of season. Player must unlock the greenhouse first.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Maggie sends you a letter if items block house upgrades.

GENERAL FIXES AND QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

  • CRASH FIX – During Pattie 1 if player finished dialogue while throwing plate on the table the game would require a restart.
  • CRASH FIX – The game would crash if you used the mine whistle while climbing a ladder.
  • CRASH FIX – Checking the map while Wild Will was inside a building would crash the game, e.g. Pattie 3.
  • BUG FIX / NEW CONTENT – Put egg or turkey egg into crock pot to make mayonnaise.
  • BUG FIX / NEW CONTENT – Add corn to the mill to make cornmeal.
  • BUG FIX / NEW CONTENT – Add beets to the mill to make sugar.
  • BUG FIX – Could not complete the boxcar race after year 1.
  • BUG FIX – Yams took 8 days instead of 11 days like they said they should, switched to 11 days.
  • BUG FIX – Jim 3 cutscene in saloon had duplicate animations / objects.
  • BUG FIX – Post office should have been open on Saturdays.
  • BUG FIX – Mayor Archibald now says the correct name of your animal at the end of the livestock fair, if you win.
  • BUG FIX – Sometimes the Secret Santa would mess up the people and not work.
  • BUG FIX – If you gave your Secret Santa a gift before the winter feast, you could not give them a gift during the festival.
  • BUG FIX – Player horse colour changing during cutscenes.
  • BUG FIX – Ho ho ho, if you quit Winter Feast early, Jim would stay in his Santa costume.
  • BUG FIX – Winter graphic overlays didn’t delete when you removed a piece of equipment in the winter.
  • BUG FIX – Crafting buff did nothing, now gives you a 10% chance of making 2 items for the cost of 1.
  • BUG FIX – Fixed the Winter Feast donation box on controller.
  • BUG FIX – Fixed still wearing clothing while riding the horse naked.
  • BUG FIX – Added potassium nitrate to the mines. It was previously very difficult to get.
  • BUG FIX – Fixed the general store sale items discount transferring to the buy tab.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – You get a letter the day of the Winter Feast informing you of who your Secret Santa is.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Expanded the capacity of the level 3 and 4 water cans.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Empty water barrels sold at general store during the spring.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Mill take 1 in-game hour to make flour/sugar/cornmeal.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Added default recipe for grilled animal meat.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Shipping box and chest graphics show open frame when hovering over them with your mouse
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – Bank pays out your earned interest into your account on the 1st of every month.
  • QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT – All seeds available at the general store restock on Mondays after player has built a greenhouse.

No patch notes available. This update brings the following to the game:

  • fixes a bug impacting the Hoedown event early in the game
  • brings some Quality of Life improvements
  • Fixed localisation bug – The game no longer stops player from progressing after reaching farming level 3 when playing with the Japanese language.
  • Fixed cutscene – Patients from scene 3 with Andrew no longer get trapped in the Dr’s office after the scene is completed.
  • Fixed SFX – There is no longer a chance that the elevator SFX never stops playings.
  • Fixed unbreakable stumps – The game no longer shows the interaction hand icon that caused some tree stumps to be unbreakable.
  • Fixed moving building kit issues – Controller issues have now been fixed and buildings should no longer phantom duplicate randomly when moving them.
  • Fixed second rodeo ride – Game no longer softlocks after 50 seconds.
  • Fixed tree and mushroom growth – Trees and mushrooms now regrow normally after enough time passes.

How to download updates for Cattle Country on Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Cattle Country, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
