Etrian Odyssey V: website update (Another Color artworks, battle system), TV Commercial
Today is Friday, which means it’s time for the latest website update for Etrian Odyssey V: The End of the Long Myth! This week, we get some new artworks for the Another Colour feature, more screenshots for the Two Titles and Master Skills, screenshots and details for the Battle System, and even a TV Commercial!
TV Commercial
Here’s a TV commercial for Etrian Odyssey V, which began airing this week in Japan:
Battle System
Just like the previous entries, the battle system of Etrian Odyssey V features rows. There’s two of them: Front and Back. As you can imagine, characters in the front row are much more likely to take damage than those at the back, which is why you have the think carefully about where you’re going to place everyone.
Naturally, the characters with the best defence and those focused on physical attacks should be place on the front row. Those who are focused on support or attacking from a distance should be placed on the back row (especially since they tend to have a much lower defense). Of course, you’re free to experiment: you don’t have to place anyone anywhere. The only exceptions are summons (like those of the Hound Class): they will always be at the front.
Next, we have the battle commands. There’s 7 commands:
- Attack
- Skill
- Defence
- Item
- Move
- Union
- Escape
In general, each command takes one turn.
