Ace Attorney 6: new scans show a second new character, more details

Gyakuten Saiban 6Yesterday we learned that Capcom was working on Ace Attorney 6 for the Nintendo 3DS, which has already been confirmed for the West. We even got some scans, allowing us to learn about the game’s setting and one of the new characters. But that’s not all: more scans have leaked online, and provide us with details and clear visuals for a second new character (spotted in the first batch of scans).

Unfortunately, Famitsu doesn’t give the name of that character (a woman), who is neither a prosecutor, witness, or judge. Apparently, she appears in court right after Phoenix Wright object to a verdict which, as usual, has been handed down a bit too fast. Bad news for Wright, she doesn’t really seem impressed by him, and she’s pretty self-confident. One of the screenshots on the scan even shows her adressing the judge directly.

Some bits from the developers interview have also leaked, allowing us to get some additional details about the game. The main theme of Ace Attorney 6 is “Courtroom Revolution”, with Phoenix Wright trying to change the court system.

As for why the game takes place in a foreign country, this is apparently because there isn’t any “strong enemies” left for him to battle with in Japan. For Eshiro Motohide (Producer), the most important aspect in an Ace Attorney game is how exhilarating it is to go from a desperate situation to a complete victory. He believes that providing that has become hard within the Japanese court system.

Finally, the developers reveal that the new features from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies (such as the text backlog, the hints, etc.) will be back, but that players will be able to disable the hints at any time. We also learn that development is 30% complete.

Here’s the latest scans for Ace Attorney 6 (complete with a comparison between Dual Destinies and Ace Attorney 6 for Phoenix Wright’s model):

Ace Attorney 6 (3DS) will come out in Japan, Europe and North America.
