Yooka-Laylee enters final 4 days, brings new screens, adds new artists

Earlier today, Playtonic Games announced that the last stretch goal for Yooka-Laylee (£ 2 million) was reached. What this means for backers is that they will get free DLC for the game, but development for said DLC will only start after the game has been completed. Of course, the DLC will also be available for purchase for players who didn’t back the game on Kickstarter.

There’s still 11 hours to go until the end of the Kickstarter campaign, and we should expect some special announcement then.

Yooka-Laylee’s über-successful Kickstarter enters its final four-day stretch with £1.9 million in pledges after combining the Kickstarter and PayPal pool. This makes it very likely Playtonic Games will reach the £2 million “payback” stretch goal that promises free DLC for backers that will only go into development after the team has wrapped up the main game.

Earlier this week, we also learned that Playtonic enlisted the support of former Super Play and Rare artist Wil Overton and former Rare artist Kevin Bayliss. Overton is going to provide illustrations for the retro-themed game manual while Bayliss will be providing additional character designs.
