Yo-kai Watch: the anime to premiere on October 5th on Disney XD, cast, video clips
The Yo-kai Watch anime premiered in January 2014 in Japan, and that’s when Yo-kai Watch (which was a modestly successful new IP until then) quickly became the phenomenom we know. In Japan, it began airing roughly 6 months after the game came out, but in the United States, it will premiere before the game comes out.
Today, Animation Magazine revealed that the Yo-kai Watch anime series would premiere on October 5th on Disney XD in the United States, basically a full month before the game itself (which will be released on November 6th in North America).
The first episode will air on Monday, October 5th at 5PM EDT/PDT, and will be followed by one episode each day (at the same time slot) until October 9th. After that, the anime series will air weekly, on Monday (5PM EDT/PDT). Each episode will be available on WATCH Disney XD one day after airing.
We also have the English cast for the series, which is as follows:
- Johnny Yong Bosch: Nate
- J.W. Terry: Whisper
- Alicyn Packard : Jibanyan
- Melissa Hutchison: Katie
- Pierre Holloway: the Teacher and Manjimutt
- Brent Pendergrass: Eddie (Nate’s friend)
Animation Magazine also shared some clips, which gives us a preview of the English dub cast:
Head after the break for the second clip!
In Europe, the Yo-kai Watch anime will be distributed by VIZ Media.
Yo-kai Watch (3DS) comes out on November 6th in North America, and in 2016 in Europe.
