The World Ends With You -Final Remix- announced, releasing this year on Nintendo Switch

The World Ends With You is a cult-classic originally released on Nintendo DS, known for its unique art-style, its dual-screen gameplay, and its soundtrack. Many fans have been hoping for a sequel since then, and it looks like it could end up happening after all. During today’s Nintendo Direct Mini, Square-Enix revealed The World Ends With You -Final Remix-, an enhanced port of the game.

Unlike the original, The World Ends With You -Final Remix- is playable with both touch controls and “traditional” button controls. Of course, everything takes place on a single screen now, but that was to be expected as dual-screen gameplay would have required two Nintendo Switch consoles! But that’s not all: this version of the game also includes a brand new epilogue, that sheds new light on the game’s story!

If you want to see the first trailer and gameplay footage for the game, simply check out the Nintendo Direct Mini… it’s literally the very first game showcased! Alternatively, here’s the recording of the segment from the Japanese presentation… in Japanese, obviously!

Finally, here’s some pictures for the game:

The World Ends With You -Final Remix- will be released sometime in 2018. The exact date is to be confirmed, but the game has already been added to the Upcoming Games page!
