United States: Nintendo eShop Digital Cards via PayPal Digital Gifts now available

In North America (and Europe), to add funds to your Nintendo eShop account, you have two options:

– use a credit card
– use prepaid card

But in some European countries (United Kingdom, Germany and Austria), you can use your PayPal, albeit not directly. Indeed, you have to go through PayPal Digital Gifts, where you can purchase a Nintendo eShop Digital Card. It works the same way as a one of the physical prepaid cards found at some retailers, except you get a code instead of an actual card.

Good news for users who prefer to use PayPal for their purchases online, and don’t want to use a prepaid card (or can’t find any in stores): Nintendo eShop Digital Cards are now available in the United States via PayPal Digital Gifts.
