New Content!
  • Spelunky 2’sAna” joins the Bunkhouse in the new underground Annex. Ana gets more luck the more of a map she explores. She also starts with a new Torch weapon that burns enemies on contact. There are a couple other Spelunky 2 themed upgrades to unlock– a powerful yet dangerous Scepter weapon and  an Eggplant charm which can give you a bonus heart if you complete its challenge. [editors note: had to temporarilty disable scepter while fixing a bug]
  • Two new spells have been added: Bling Ring has a chance at causing a new temporary blind status which makes enemies move in random directions rather than target you. Doom Ring add a chance at causing the new doom status. Doomed enemies die after a 10 second countdown. Bosses are immune.
  • There’s a new Coupon Book charm which makes all shop cages 30% off.
  • The knockback system was reworked so that it’s more satisfying to push enemies back. There’s also a new unlockable Knockback bone shop powerup.
  • The Coin Finder charm has been turned into Coin Magnet which works like Blood Draw to suck in all money every 30 seconds.
  • New associated quests for the new elements.
Balance, etc
  • Knockback system revamped.
  • More Blood upgrades now multiply their effects rather than add.
  • Some late game enemy health reduced.
  • Bones now cap at 66,666.
  • Various weapon tweaks of all sorts.
  • Flood’s oxygen bubbler interval was slightly shortened.
  • The tips toggle now also hides locked-door bubbles.

How to download updates for Blood Dungeon on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2?

To download the updates for Blood Dungeon, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
