Media Create: some comments about Week 15 in Japan

Week 15 was quite slow in Japan, with sales dropping left and right. The flood of new releases from March ended with the new Fiscal Year, and it clearly showed in the weekly charts from Media Create. During Week 15, only 383 000 games were sold in Japan: that’s 46.85% of Week 14, meaning that sales were more than halved.

This is obviously due to the lack of new releases, and the drop in sales for the popular titles from the previous weeks. And without new releases, the ratio of new software sales to total software plunged from 40.29% during Week 14 to a meagre 6.82% during Week 15.
