The Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold rated in Australia

Several years ago, Level-5 introduced their latest cross-media franchise following Inazuma Eleven and Yo-kai Watch: The Snack World. From the very beginning, the company made it clear that they had plans to bring the franchise outside Japan, and even revealed an English dubbed version of the pilot movie shortly after the Japanese version.

In Japan, the anime series debuted in April 2017 and ended in April 2018. The game was released on Nintendo 3DS in August of that year, followed by a Nintendo Switch version in April 2018. But outside Japan, still no concrete sign of The Snack World, just a few signs here and there. But thanks to the Australian Classification Board, we now have concrete proof that the series is coming to Europe and North America… or at the very least, the Nintendo Switch game.

Yesterday, the ACB rated a certain Nintendo Switch game, called The Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold (quite obviously the English title of The Snack World: Trejarers Gold):

Quite interestingly, the game received a “M” rating, most likely due to the “crude sexual humour” (though the rating page “Moderate Impact” for Themes, “Mild Impact” for Violence, and “Very Mild Impact” for language. The game is clearly targeted at a mostly kids-friendly audience, and was even rated “A” by the CERO (which would translate in a PEGI 7 / E for Everyone in North America).

It’s quite clear some elements were not deemed as kids-friendly as they were in Japan, but Level-5 didn’t deem it necessary to make any changes to the content to comply with requirements for a lower rating than M.

Right now, it’s not clear when The Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold will be released outside Japan, but with E3 fast approaching and Layton Mystery’s Journal: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy Deluxe Edition still MIA, it’s probably safe to assume an announcement will be made close to / at the famous event. Level-5 is listed as the sole publisher, and it looks like the company didn’t partner up with Nintendo like they did for Yo-kai Watch.

The Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold (Switch) does not have a release date outside Japan.
