DLC

Following the launch of 7th Dragon III code:VFD, on October 15th, SEGA will release some paid DLC for the game. The planning was revealed today, along with some details and screenshots.

Once you have purchased the DLC, the quests will be available at the quests counter. However, you will need to progress up to a certain point in the main story before being able to buy additional quests. What’s more, some of the quests have specific conditions which must be met in order to be able to take them.

Here’s the planning for the DLC:

October 15th – “Furowashido outbreak!” [300 Yen]

A special quest in which you have to take on an outbreak of furowashido (some crystal-like enemies), attacking Atlantica. It allows you to get a lot of SP, and can be completed as many times as you want.

October 22nd – “Gold Rabbit outbreak!” [300 Yen]

A special quest in which you have to take care of an outbreak of Gold Rabbits. It allows you to get a lot of Az (the game’s currency), and can be completed as many times as you want.

October 29th – “CODE @ STUDENT” [350 Yen]

A special quest in which you have to find a character which looks suspiciously like a member of the squad of legend. If you complete it, you will unlock a special weapon and a look based on the Student style (female) from 7th Dragon 2020-II.

November 5th – “CODE @ OTAKU” [350 Yen]

A special quest in which you have to find a character which looks suspiciously like a member of the squad of legend. If you complete it, you will unlock a special weapon and a look based on the Otaku style (female) from 7th Dragon 2020-II.

November 12th – “CODE @ RUCIER” [350 Yen]

A special quest in which you have to find a character which looks suspiciously like a member of the squad of legend. If you complete it, you will unlock a special weapon and a look based on the Rucier style (female) from 7th Dragon 2020-II.

Demo version

SEGA also revealed some details about the demo version. First, we got the confirmation that it will be released on September 30th, and that it will allow players to try out Chapter 0 and 1. It requires 2019 blocks (240MB) of free space on your SD Card.

Even though you will be able to transfer your save data, there will be some restrictions:

  • no character creation available in the demo;
  • level cap: level 10, which means you won’t be able to transfer over-powered characters to the full game.

However, you don’t have anything to worry about regarding the lack of character editor in the demo. If you transfer your data to the full version, you will be able to change the appearance, the profession and even the name of your characters. You will also get several bonus items, which will definitely help you in your quest:

  • EX Upper: an item you can equip in order to increase the amount of XP you get by x1.2
  • Skill Upper: an item you can equip in order to increase the amount of Skill Points you get by x1.2
  • Nagamimi amulet/charm: an item you can equip in order to increase your Attack, Speed and Evasion rate
  • 10 000 Az (in-game currency), which is bound to prove helpful at the beginning of the game!

Finally, here’s some screenshots for the demo version of 7th Dragon III code:VFD:

7th Dragon III code:VFD (3DS) comes out on October 15th in Japan. The demo version will be released on September 30th.
