Swap This! announced for the Nintendo Switch

A few days ago, TwoTribes teased a new game for the Nintendo Switch, and today, it was revealed to be Swap This!. If you’ve never heard of this game before, it’s no wonder: it was created for iOS back in 2011, but never got a proper release.

But fastforward 7 years later, and Swap This! is resurfacing on Nintendo Switch! It will be released on November 2nd in Europe and North America, and will cost only 1.19€ / $1.19. It’s already available for pre-purchase on the Nintendo eShop.

Unlike most puzzle games, Swap This! requires fast reflexes and tactical thinking. It’s been design for touch controls, which is why it’s releasing on Nintendo Switch of all platforms. However, the game will be playable on the TV screen, for those of you who would rather play on a big screen.

There’s 4 modes for you to choose from:

  • Minute Match
  • Fish Fight
  • Wave Mode
  • Puzzles

Here’s a trailer for the game:

And here’s some details about it:

Once thought lost in the Two Tribes treasure chest, Swap This! is here to make matching puzzle games exciting again! It’s a game in which gaming skills like fast reflexes and tactical thinking actually count for something. Players still match colors, but once they get the hang of it they’ll be juggling multiple chain reactions in real time while strategically deploying power-ups to beat giant enemy fish!

In Swap This! you can swap colored ice cubes anywhere on screen, whenever you want, in real time. So getting good really comes down to dexterity and tactics. You’ll soon find yourself building up screen-clearing combos! Additionally, the game includes 5 super-charged power-ups and 4 distinct play modes. There’s a ton of stuff to keep you busy!
