Super Smash Bros.: an amiibo-only tournament in Japan

In Japan, a special tournament for Super Smash Bros. will be held on March 21th, and amiibo will be the only participants allowed. But before that, there will be a qualification period, in 3 different stores across Japan. Everyone who participate will receive a clear file, and the winner of each session will get an amiibo (besides the invitation to the tournament, obviously).

The dates and stores are as follow:

Yodobashi Camera Multimedia at Umeda  (Osaka) [March 14th]
Toys R Us / Babies R Us at Ichikawa (Chiba)
: only for children in middle school or younger [March 15th]
Wonder Goo at Moriya (Ibaraki) [March 15th]

There’s some special rules:

– everyone will be accepted, but you have to bring your own amiibo, trained in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U / 3DS. There will be some amiibo for people who don’t have one, but people with their own figure will have priority;
– only 1 participation per person
– matches will be 8 players Smash, in up to 16 players tournaments. Rules are: stock matches, items allowed and Battlefield only.

The time and place for the March 21st tournament will be announced at a later date.
