Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town – Debut trailer, screenshots; western release confirmed

Earlier this week, Famitsu revealed that a “new” Story of Seasons game was headed to the Nintendo Switch. That game is none other than a full remake a Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (released as Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town back in the days), to be released on October 17th in Japan.

Following the Famitsu reveal, Marvelous shared the debut trailer for the game, along with the first set of screenshots and artworks:

Quite interestingly, the press release specifically mentions that this is but the first mainline entry on Nintendo Switch. This should come as no surprise considering Marvelous announced they were working on Story of Seasons games for the Nintendo Switch back in January 2017, but it’s still nice to have further confirmation.

Also, it has already been confirmed that Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town will be released in both Europe and North America, courtesy of Marvelous Europe and XSEED repsectively. No release date was provided, but it most likely will not be for this year, considering Doraemon Story of Seasons is slated for a Fall release.

Originally released for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2003, STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town is a complete remake that will let series fans revisit the charming world of Mineral Town, while also introducing it to a new generation of farmers. In this peaceful setting, players will grow crops, take care of animals, and build relationships with villagers.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Switch) comes out on October 17th in Japan, and later in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
