Splatoon 2: Kyoto Aquarium collaboration, real-life Splat Dualies, 7-Eleven Gear, more

With Splatoon, various collaboration even were held in Japan, with the most famous one being the one with the Saga Prefecture. But those collaboration didn’t start right away, since Nintendo wasn’t really expecting the game’s popularity to blow up like it did. But with Splatoon 2, it’s a completely different story…

Tomorrow, a special collaboration event with the Kyoto Aquarium, called Suizokukaan: Squid Summer Vacations. It offers various activities for parents and children, that are both fun and instructive. Of course, there’s also some exclusive goodies available for purchase, such as t-shirts, food, and more.

The Suizokukaan: Squid Summer Vacations event takes place from July 15th to August 31st in Japan.

Today, Nintendo also revealed various details about the first Splatfest for Splatoon 2: you can check out everything you need to know about in this post! Here’s some screenshots and illustrations:

But that’s not all: on July 28th, Sun Art is going to release a real-life version of the Spalt Dualies, the iconic new weapon from Splatoon 2. Naturally, it does not shoot actual ink, it’s “just” another pretty neat watergun!

Here’s what it looks like:

At 7-Eleven, a special campaign for Splatoon 2 will be held from July 21st to an unspecified date. Players who purchase specific things (the game, the Splatoon 2 Nintendo Switch bundle, various bits of merchandise, etc) will be able to get a download code for the game, that can unlock exclusive gear.

Here’s the details about the Gear:

Set 1 (game, Download Code, Nintendo Switch, Accessories)

  • FA-11 Omote – Custom (Gear Power: Bomb Defense Up)
  • FA-11 Ura – Custom (Gear Power: Cold Blooded)

Set 2 (merchandise)

  • Ika Red V Collab. (Gear Power: Quick Respawn)
  • Ika Green V Collab. (Gear Power: Quick Super Jump)

Oh, but don’t feel too bad if you don’t live in Japan and/or don’t want to buy anything at 7-Eleven: the official website confirms that this Gear will be added to My Nintendo in 2018.
