Sonic Forces: Episode Shadow (free DLC) announced for launch

In less than two months, the second Sonic game of the year will be released on (almost) all major platforms. Sonic Forces, developed by the Sonic Team (unlike Sonic Mania) will be released on November 7th in Europe and North America, and November 9th in Japan.

And there’s something special fans will be able to discover alongside the game… a piece of DLC called “Episode Shadow”, that focuses on Shadow, but also his mysterious backstory with Infinite. It includes three additional stages, and allows you to replay over 10 Modern Sonic stages as Shadow.

The best part? It will be available for free to all players! Naturally, if you’ve already pre-ordered the game, you will get the Episode Shadow free DLC.

Today, SEGA also launched digital pre-orders for the game, but unfortunately, they’re not live on the Nintendo eShop of the Nintendo Switch yet… and most likely never will. Since there hasn’t been any other digital pre-order on the platform, it’s clear that those are not yet supported yet. A real shame, considering the Wii U and even the Nintendo 3DS did have them.

Sonic Forces (Switch) comes out on November 7th in Europe and North America, and November 9th in Japan.
