Skylanders: Donkey Kong and Bowser figures to be sold separately

Skylanders SuperChargersBack at E3, Nintendo revealed a special collaboration with the Skylanders series from Activision. In Skylanders: SuperChargers, players can play with Donkey Kong and Bowser, provided they have one of the special Skylanders figures. Those figures are both a Skylanders and an amiibo at the same time, and you can go from one “mode” to the other using a switch on the base.

Unfortunately for amiibo fans not interested in Skylanders SuperChargers, the Donkey Kong and Bowser figures were not available separately at launch: you had to buy the starter packs on Wii U and Wii / Nintendo 3DS to get them. But not anymore: it turns out that the two figures will be sold separately (at least, in North America).

The figures will come in double-packs with Turbo Charge Donkey Kong or Hammer Slam Bowser with their respective vehicle (Barrel Blaster and Clown Cruiser). Here’s a picture of both:

Those double-packs should cost $24.99. Unfortunately, we don’t know when they will be released in Europe.
