Yo-kai Watch: over 2.15 million tickets sold for the second movie

Yo-kai Watch Movie 2The second Yo-kai Watch movie, called Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!, hit theatres on December 19th in Japan. It didn’t sell as many tickets as the first one (which broke several records just with pre-purchase tickets), but it was still extremely successful with 974 557 tickets sold during the opening week-end.

And today, we learn that the movie also did pretty well during its second week-end. It ranked #1 in ticket sales on December 26-27th, with over 450 000 tickets sold (in 358 theatres). The movie generated 500 million Yen (roughly 3.7 million € / 2.7 million £ / 4.1 million $) during those two days, which is less than Star Wars: The Force Awakens (even though it sold less tickets than Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan! during the same period).

Since December 19th, Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan! sold over 2.15 million tickets in Japan, and has generated 2.3 billion Yen (roughly 17 million € / 12 million £ / 19 million $).
